Imagine a mesmerizing camping destination nestled along the banks of the serene Clyde river. Towering trees provide a natural canopy overhead, dappling sunlight onto the lush forest floor. The tranquil sound of water gently flowing creates a soothing ambiance, perfect for relaxation. Picture yourself setting up camp near the riverbank, with the refreshing breeze carrying the scent of wildflowers. As the day fades into night, marvel at the starlit sky mirrored on the shimmering surface of the river. It's a breathtaking experience that seamlessly blends nature's beauty with the joy of outdoor living. Brooman rests approximately half way between Ulladulla and Batemans Bay on the fresh water section of the Clyde River. The property stretches south on both sides of the river from the Old Sawmill Town located at its northern end. Brooman is a working farm and encompasses lots of beautiful spaces, restored old buildings, two small mountains, fertile river flats, native forests, grasslands, deep water holes, tree covered rapid sections of river and sweeping views. Brooman is less than 30 minutes drive to some of the most beautiful beaches on the south coast. Shallow Crossing is 10 minutes to the south. North is Pigeon House car park, Yadboro and the base of The Castle. To the West there are hundreds of kilometres of Forestry and National Park roads through some of the most spectacular forested mountain country east of the Coastal Range. The Clyde River Berry Farm is just minutes down the road. Local fish and chips, great coffee and handmade bread is 25mins drive at Burrill Lake. Some of the best restaurants and bars on the coast are less than 40 minutes drive at Milton and Mollymook. If you are looking to relax and recharge in nature or explore amazing country, then Brooman is it.

Burroman Flat Site 2 (larger sites)
be sure to fondle the water grass
Super lovely spot, depending on what you are keen for worth looking at all the different sites as they have quite different river (and toilet) access and swimming spots - but so much lovely close by anyway! We were there without any other sites occupied which was deluxe, but they seem pretty spread out (though noise will travel in the valley). Good basic facilities: the portaloos pleased some of our group less partial to the loooong drop, heaps of drinking water, hosts generously gave us firewood (BYOC), and a few sites have covered communal areas, but like many places in this area bring tick spray and be diligent. The bushland by the river is lush, other side of the campsite is cow paddocks. Interesting area, nature, and history - have been coming to the coast all my life but not explored this area properly. Really feel like you are in middle of nowhere, but not too far to the beach and generally accessible in 2wd car. Bring lilos the river float from top site to bottom is divine, be sure to fondle the water grass! And AMAZING cicadas at this time of year... noisy but beautiful!

Burroman Flat Site 6 - Private Site
Peaceful and beautiful
We had a wonderful and peaceful camping experience. Our group of two enjoyed having our own private space, which was a real plus. There was no reception at the campsite, which we appreciated for the full camping experience, though some of our friends were less thrilled about it. Being close to the river was fantastic, especially in the hot weather—it was incredibly refreshing. A word of caution: watch out for ticks! There are plenty around. The campsite is a bit of a drive from Sydney, and part of the journey is on a dirt road. Don’t make the same mistake we did by following Google Maps—it took us 45 minutes through dirt roads. Instead, follow Matt’s directions; it’s a shorter and easier route, though there’s still some dirt road involved. One great thing was the abundance of wood branches, perfect for lighting a campfire. However, the potable water tank was nearly empty. If we hadn’t brought a small full tank of water with us, we would have been in trouble. We only had one chance to refill our tank during our stay, so make sure to plan ahead!

Burroman Flat Site 1A
Private, well designated camp sites. Peaceful even though it was full due to the long weekend.

Burroman Flat Site 1B
Lovely green campsite close to the river. Excellent facilities (water, toilets). It took us a little time to find the farm (it is outside Broman), but once there it was straightforward to find and access the site.

Slow down and settle in
Awesome hand crafted cabin sitting respectfully by the Clyde river. Full of character, it’s a great place to gather with friends and share a meal or laze on the sun drenched verandah. Felt like we were a million miles away even though we were less than 30min from town.
