"The Riverbank" is only 7.5 kilometres and an easy 8 minute drive off the M1. The rich green land supports a small beef raising enterprise and the cattle graze in surrounding paddocks. YOU MUST ARRIVE BEFORE SUNSET We are pet friendly however only for those pets that live in harmony with our farm animals. We offer 2 powered sites with water hookup and 2 unpowered drive through sites without water connection; our brand new magnificently appointed camp kitchen and bathroom ammenities are available to all who stay. We are caravan, campervan and motorhome friendly but do not offer swag only or tent sites. Campfires can be enjoyed through the cooler months and when permitted by the Rural Fire Service Unfortunately our 3 metre cliff face river frontage prevents access to the river for activities such as boating or kayaking; nor do we offer farm style adventures. "The Riverbank" as a destination for a relaxing time to unwind or a base from which to explore the beautiful Hastings area. The Abundance Nursery and Cafe with it's splendid lily pond view is a great spot to enjoy a meal or a coffee and only 3 kms back along Rawdon Island road. The pretty country town of Wauchope is only a 12 minute drive and is home to Timbertown, a theme park boasting steam train rides and a glimpse of the timber getting industry of a bygone era. Drop into the Vibe Coffee House, pick up "the best" coffee and a sensational meal before perusing the many treasures of Wauchope's specialty shops. A day trip to the Comboyne plateu is a rewarding experience and enhanced by enjoying a meal at the magnificant Byabarra Cafe on your way through. Whilst the meals equall those of any capital city restaurant, the view of the valley will take your breath away. And then; there's Port Macquarie (20 mins) and sorrounds! one of the most scenic and attraction packed areas of Australia's eastern seaboard. Immerse yourself in nature as you camp beside our friendly cows, swim, fish or kayak in the Hastings river, hike our trails, or forage in our wild orchards. All of our sites are secluded as our property is large, we invite you to our peaceful piece of countryside for a self contained camping trip with all the convenience of town just minutes away. Cameron's Falls is a historic site, the 'falls', really just gentle rapids, are the original river crossing site for horse drawn vehicles to travel from Port Macquarie/Wauchope inland to Beechwood and beyond. Today we are a hobby farm with cows, horses - we invite you to say hello, but please don't feed any of the animals. If we are here to greet you on arrival you can fill up with potable rain water at our cottage. The Hastings is still tidal at our place so the access and flow varies throughout the day - we generally take our littlest kids down at low tide. Swim, fish or explore our hiking trails though the old growth riparian vegetation along winding creeks. If you are into birds you will see plenty here - in the last 12 months we have counted nearly 100 different species on our property!

I wanted to press ‘no we wouldn’t recommend’ but couldn’t due to how nice it was there! You can hear the highway, but the tranquillity is next level - it completely overrides it. We will be back again!!

Great option for any type of camping. Couple bars of phone reception if that’s what you prefer, flat & level ground with lots of room and designated fire pits . Was a great overnight stay for us and would be well suited for multiple nights as well. Highly recommend.

Matt & his wife have a great Hipcamp. Easy to follow directions, Matt met us on arrival and gave us the lay of the land and told us about local attractions. Our spot was huge and it was great having power & water hookup. We also got to use the new ensuite just for ourselves for a small extra cost and that was amazing (the main bathroom is included). The camp kitchen & area was immaculate & bbq was awesome. In terms of location, it was a short drive to Port Macquarie (20ish mins) and less to Wauchope. So great location if you want to be away from the crowds but be able to easily go to the beach or out to eat. Overall, great spot & friendly hosts so most definitely recommend and we will be back.

Absolutely beautiful location and well appointed site. Peaceful and quiet- exactly what we wanted after a long day on the road. Lovely landscaping and we were able to feel the grass under foot. Matt was helpful and friendly. Multiple families would be very happy here.

A really beautiful part of the world. It’s quiet, next to a deep creek that runs adjacent to the river. The kids had a great time exploring the area, meeting the dogs Astro and Buddy, as well as the horses.

Lovely peaceful spot, removed from town traffic and full of native birdlife. Large site with complete privacy. Firepit provided. Overlooks the river, but access to the river is limited to your ability to scramble down a steep, bushy river bank. Our Rhodesian Ridgeback loved the freedom of wandering around the site and was curious, but intimidated by the beautiful cattle that grazed our way from time to time.

Really well maintained land and the kitchen/shower facilities were brand new and to a really high standard! Loved the proximity to the river itself so we could all see the sun set over it Matthew came round to say hi and was really warm and friendly :) Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here!

This campsite by the river was beautiful, we wished we could have stayed longer. The host, Matt, was responsive and we had clear instructions and communication leading up to check in. Amenities were also great, there was a well-equipped kitchen with BBQ and clean, spacious shower and toilets with everything we needed. Would definitely love to return!
