Check the cafe out at @highwaymyocum Just 8 km from Byron Bay - 10 minutes drive along a scenic country road, with gentle hills around and magical views. Near all the Byron incredible activities, such as great restaurants, waterfalls, beaches. Well positioned between the beaches of Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads. Incredible privacy and quiet. There are goats (with babies) in a paddock next to Site 2, and a horse paddock with 6 horses. We do have a water tap though to fill your tanks and a couple of electric plugs to charge your essentials (check the small old shed close to Site 1). We have 6 different sites for caravan and RVs/ tents. It is a former cattle farm that is being currently reforested to the original Big Scrub rainforest. The proceeds from Hipcamp are used to reforest the land. PLEASE make sure to take your garbage away and remember the campsites are for fully contained campers only (no toilets on site). You NEED to be fully contained to stay in the property. You can enjoy walking around and explore the magic sunsets of the Byron Hinterland. There are a few billabong/ creeks and a mowed nature walk path.

If you’re passing by, you’re welcome to drop in. There’s almost always somewhere you can set up for the night. Our property is located in the heart of Rathdowney, gateway to the picturesque Scenic Rim. There is a two-week maximum stay available at the Rathdowney Memorial Grounds Caravan Park. You’ll need to provide us with your name, address, mobile, email and vehicle registration. It helps us to keep everyone safe and our registration process. We have powered and unpowered sites available for independent travelers. On-site at the Rathdowney Memorial Grounds it's an easy walk across the street for supplies, or for dinner at the local. We have toilets and hot showers available! There is access to drinking water and rubbish facilities. Campfires permitted but not straight onto the ground. Bindarah Downs offers easy access to our 4 acres and 3 levels of open and shaded, creek frontage. Only 15 mins from Rathdowney, close to Maroon Dam and several National Parks. Each site accommodates one set-up; e.g. one caravan, one motorhome, one camper trailer etc. Please make a separate booking if you have multiple camping set-ups. The creek offers campers cool waterholes to swim in on a hot day and picnic tables to enjoy your meals. Hang your hammock, lay back and enjoy the tranquil setting and cool breeze while the kids ride their bikes. Campers are required to be self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Children 16 and under stay for free but please let us know they are coming. Campfires are welcome but must be kept contained, you can help yourself to any fallen timber on the ground but please do not cut any trees. Pets are welcome but must be kept restrained at night and must not disturb any of the wildlife or livestock. Set on 180acres, stunning views of Mt. Lindesay, Mt. Gillies and surrounding area. Open fire pits and pet friendly.

Great little get away. Love that there was water in the creek and the dogs could cool off. Ample space between campers and lots of places to walk around the property. We visited Mt. Barney which was a short drive. Highly recommend this space and Shayne is a great host and was very welcoming.

Bindarah Downs is a lovely, quiet, rural setting perfect for our family camping trip. Shayne was very helpful and accommodating- great directions, explanations of the farm animals and walks and local area. Only a 15-20 min drive to Mt Barney NP hikes (including Lower Portals swimming hole). We camped right by the creek, which was running with beautiful clear water. No mozzies. Grounds well maintained. No toilets, so you need to be fully self contained.

Shayne & Kim are incredibly welcoming hosts. The property is beautifully maintained and surrounded by a creek. Plenty of trees alongside the camping area to provide shade. Bags of firewood available are for sale to use in the many fire pits. Don’t forget to bring the carrots or Weet Bix for a treat for the horses. They love to come and say hi at the fence. We will definitely be back!

This campsite was exactly what I was hoping for. It was quiet and peaceful, with a lovely creek nearby that made it feel really relaxing. The campsites were very clean and well cared for, which made our stay even better. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and they made us feel comfortable right away. I’d definitely recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a calm, enjoyable place to stay.

We loved our time at Bindarah Downs. We were welcomed by Shayne and had a nice chat. The property was freshly mowed and well prepared for us. The surrounding creek was lovely to cool off in. We met some of the horses and they were given a Weet Bix treat and a scratch. It reached 36 degrees but sitting under the huge trees kept us comfortably cool. Fire wood for sale on site is a bonus too. Will definitely be back!

A simple quiet and friendly spot, very clean bathroom and showers, clean bbqs and well spaced parks. The owner was very kind and the ppl who stay there were lovely too. My kids had a ball just being in nature, running around in the fresh air creating their own fun.
