Then property is set 600 metres back from a quiet rural road, accessed via a gravel driveway. It is nestled at the foot of Mount Knowles, and includes over 300 acres of bushland in addition to approx 30 acres of formal gardens and mown paddocks, one of which has a pretty dam. All areas have expansive rural views. We offer a basic bush site for self-contained campers, a bell tent overlooking the dam and a fully-contained caravan. At Bushman's Camp we welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. You must have your own amenities. Campsites are accessible for 2WDs and we welcoming camping vehicles. You may need to level your vehicle for a comfortable night’s sleep. There are a few options for camping. The land is undulating with flat spots, with open grassy areas peppered with gum trees. Other parts are more heavily wooded with gums and natives. Our Bell Tent overlooks the dam, where you can sit in bed and look out over the water as the sun shimmers and reflects off the surface. Listen to the birdlife surrounding the water. Adjacent the dam is a covered dining area with BBQ for your use. There is non potable water available but campers need to bring all the usual gear and supplies, including drinking water. There is access to a toilet, a 2 minute walk away (no shower). You will need to bring your own mattress, bed linen and towels. Our caravan comes complete with water, electricity, toilet, double and single beds, dining area and kitchen. The caravan can sleep 4 guests. Next to the caravan there is room for a further tent, van, trailer or motorhome if desired. Please add extra guests when booking. Outside the caravan, there is a beautiful sandstone ringed fire pit, BBQ, covered picnic tables, chairs, lighting and some firewood available. You will need to bring your own bed linen and towels. Camping under the stars is a must here as you are able to star-gaze at Australia's first Dark Sky Park. The homestead has 3 separate paddocks each with their own dam where you can have total privacy during your camp. Although you may have a visit from the resident sheep who graze the pastures (don't worry - they are friendly). A perfect place for bird watching an array of native birds including rosellas, cockatoos, and currawongs and you will hear the kookaburras every morning and evening. There are also kangaroos, wallabies and echidnas who roam the area. It's a beautiful place to snap a pic especially if you catch the morning sunrises and spectacular sunsets which are guaranteed to wow you. Do as little or as much as you want to on your stay. A perfect place to just unwind and take in the fresh country air and beautiful views. Stroll around the property and visit the old barn and some of the sheds and farming equipment that are scattered among the paddocks. You will have access to composting toilets or feel free to BYO facilities. Campfires are welcome in the pits provided, permitting there are no restrictions at the time of your visit. Dogs are welcomed as long as they are supervised and kept indoors at night. Being within 20 minutes to the local town of Coolah, it's a perfect stop over for an overnight stay or for a long weekend. You can easily duck into town to stock up on supplies or visit a good old country pub for a meal. We look forward to meeting you.

The van is parked beside an outdoor toilet/shower block which adjoins to and outdoor bath (hot water to both shower and bath). The water flow to both shower and bath are slow to ensure your water is hot, so you will need a little patience. The wait will be worth it, when you experience a hot bath under the stars! The van is old school and the stove does work so you can use it. You may cook on the stove as pots and pans provided. The sink has fresh water from a small steel tank sitting above the sink. You can boil water on the stove to wash your dishes using this fresh water. More fresh water is easily available at the side of the van. Although it's old school and that's the way we wanted to keep it...a couple of creature comforts are welcomed by our guests including a small diesel heater in the van and a USB port to recharge for your convenience. There is also a gas BBQ outside that is easy to operate if you prefer. You may also notice in the cover photo there is an old school fire pit complete with a BBQ plate, toasting fork and original old-fashioned billy. We have introduced a couple of new outdoor spaces to enhance your stay at Sulky Camp. We call them “The Silo's”! Check out the photos in this listing to see what it looks like. Then, you will be able to imagine yourself cooking over the fire with a glass of wine in hand! Please note: Fires are NOT permitted all year round (April - August is permitted). Firewood is provided for your stay. Please use common sense if you wish to use the fire outside of this permitted period. Bed linen, towels and amenities included. No TV or Wi-Fi. There is also only 12V solar power for lights and 1 x USB charging port only. You will have mobile reception. There is no fridge, just an of old school ice box in the van and two eskies provided (1 x bag of ice for 1 x esky provided per stay).

Old Bara is a stunning cattle property, often described as truly magical. Camp next to the creek and dogs are welcome! Old Bara offers so much more than just a place to park. Suitable for all size vehicles/vans/tents. We have great loos, voted as "the best in Australia" however, we do not have showers or powered sites. Many sites available, avoid the crowds, we do not over crowd our campers. Only 25 mins easy drive to all the wonderful Mudgee wineries, cafes and restaurants. It's the perfect place to unwind and recharge the batteries. Give the kids a screen free holiday! Dogs are welcome as long as they on leads at all times except in the off leash paddock.

Liberty Plains offers bush camping for self contained campers. There is one toilet available, a portable toilet (if the toilet runs out of soap/paper etc you will need to supply your own. The property offers a large dam for kayaking, fishing, yabbying. There is also bush walking. There is a small common area/ shed available with a bbq for guests to use and a table. There is also a shower and toilet available near the main house shed for a donation in the donation box to cover water and gas. If exploring please do not go through any fences as you may end up on a neighbors property. Guests may camp as close or far away from the main dam as they like, camp sites are first in first served. Pets allowed if kept under control, firewood is permitted to be used from the ground only no felling of standing trees, you may have a fire on the ground. Please find your own way to camp by following your map that will be sent to you on booking and the signs that are posted from the driveway on after you turn in the main entrance, no need to meet and greet with host although I may come around occasionally to see if everything is going alright.

On property, part of the Great Dividing Range, are many bush walks through beautiful native bush land which is home to many native animals & birdlife. Within short distances you can also visit quaint towns, Gulgong, Mudgee, Rylstone & Kandos who offer many & varied experiences. There are also many natural attractions such as The Drip close by. Catering to the horse riding community is a specialty, through electric fence paddocks & a full size round yard to accommodate your exploring furry friends. Suggested quiet road rides through the wine growing district of the areas are close by & accessible after a short float ride. There are many camping sites available ranging from group areas, for club set-ups to secluded camp sites located within the bushed areas. A centralised area flushing toilet is available to all campers but for campers taking advantage of the secluded sites, a portable toilet would be advantageous to bring considering distance from provided site. Dogs are also welcome. For longer stays, laundry facilities & showers are available by arrangement.

We are close enough to town so convenient for supplies, but far enough away for peace and quiet. We have plenty of horses for the kids to come and spend time with, along with baby lambs, goats, and chickens. Breelong Valley also offers a farm-to-plate experience with our beautiful fresh produce and succulent lamb for sale so you can stock up on some of your essentials, and enjoy a fantastic campfire dinner. Pets are welcome, and campfires are permitted when conditions allow, and no local fire restrictions are in place.

Athenry, Bush Camp Retreat

Then property is set 600 metres back from a quiet rural road, accessed via a gravel driveway. It is nestled at the foot of Mount Knowles, and includes over 300 acres of bushland in addition to approx 30 acres of formal gardens and mown paddocks, one of which has a pretty dam. All areas have expansive rural views. We offer a basic bush site for self-contained campers, a bell tent overlooking the dam and a fully-contained caravan. At Bushman's Camp we welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. You must have your own amenities. Campsites are accessible for 2WDs and we welcoming camping vehicles. You may need to level your vehicle for a comfortable night’s sleep. There are a few options for camping. The land is undulating with flat spots, with open grassy areas peppered with gum trees. Other parts are more heavily wooded with gums and natives. Our Bell Tent overlooks the dam, where you can sit in bed and look out over the water as the sun shimmers and reflects off the surface. Listen to the birdlife surrounding the water. Adjacent the dam is a covered dining area with BBQ for your use. There is non potable water available but campers need to bring all the usual gear and supplies, including drinking water. There is access to a toilet, a 2 minute walk away (no shower). You will need to bring your own mattress, bed linen and towels. Our caravan comes complete with water, electricity, toilet, double and single beds, dining area and kitchen. The caravan can sleep 4 guests. Next to the caravan there is room for a further tent, van, trailer or motorhome if desired. Please add extra guests when booking. Outside the caravan, there is a beautiful sandstone ringed fire pit, BBQ, covered picnic tables, chairs, lighting and some firewood available. You will need to bring your own bed linen and towels. Campfires are permitted at all our listings when not in fireban season so bring your marshmallows! There is lovely views of the valleys and mountains beyond, and you’ll really enjoy the sunsets. No pets please.
