Wanderlust Retreat

19 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents222 acres · Putty, NSW
We looked for alternative ways of living 6 years ago so we purchased 220 acres to build an off grid camping/eco resort. The property consists of a straw bale house, Tipis, Cottages, 5 stars shared facilities (hot showers, flushing toilets - disable toilet ), outdoor kitchen (gas bbq, pizza oven, all kitchen utensils, pots ), solar system and worm farm septic system. The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home. Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.) Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property. They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties. Swimming pool, water hole to cool down in summer Pets friendly Access all-wheel drive Events possible Please enjoy some of the reviews our previous guests have left for us: "Wanderlust has a beautiful hidden valley and thanks for sharing with us. We bush walked and climbed mountains (it felt like it). Back at our camp; delicious dinner, some nice reds and a beautifully relaxing camp fire. A great little getaway. " - Michelle and Paul. "Great location, quiet and private, basic accommodation, plenty of space! Great for a group getaway!!" "Absolute gen of a property and such humble owners. Thanks for all your time and effort to make our weekend away so accommodating!"

The road has just been upgraded and although has dirt mounds is quite easy. We suggest to drive over them on an angle and take your time. We have lots of people come in with trailers and campers and have not had a problem. But do not recommend it if you have a lowered car. Any concerns, please contact us.

Tooranie Stay

6 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents300 acres · Moama, NSW
Our 300-acre off-grid property backs onto the Barmah National Park. This forest, together with the adjoining Millewa forest, forms the largest River Red Gum forest in the world - it's majestic to explore. Our property is just 500 meters from the Murray River. From your camp, roughly a 1 kilometre walk through the forest. On our boundary is Backwater Creek, which fills with water when the Murray River is up. NOTE: Creek is often dry. It has water in it after environmental flows of the Murray. This can happen several times a year and the water lasts a few months. If you have any questions about water levels please ask before booking as it might be dry when you're here. We're located just 5kms northeast of Moama, where you can hop aboard a paddle-steamer, visit waterside wineries and soak up rich riverboat heritage. We offer a few large, beautiful, basic bush camping sites (the best kind!) in amongst 50 acres of bushland, with 100's of meters and trees between you and other potential campers. The rest of our property is used for cropping and sheep. Campers must take out what you bring in. Big Bama and No 3 - you'll need to be fully self contained. There is a dump point in Moama. Toilets can be hired from Central Hire in Echuca. They can deliver it for you. Mobile and internet is usually reliable, though with long weekends and summer school holidays the service seems to disappear! *Please feel free to book anyone in your possie that is under 18 as a child.

This is a strict policy due to being in a National Park and to protect the precious nature and wildlife. Two buckets of water are supplied for this purpose. Sticks in the buckets for animals to safely exit if they fall in. Whats App us with plenty of notice if you need more water. If it is hot weather or windy there may be a TOTAL FIRE ban.
