Jandarra Farm offers a comfortable and peaceful camping experience on a working farm in the Gold Coast hinterland. Unfortunately, camping will cease on the 24 December 2024 when the property will be prepared to handover to new owners. We welcome you to come stay before then. Jandarra means 'place of peace' and we honour this by having a maximum of 6 campers at a time. Guests can visit the rockpool, take a self-guided walk through the rainforest, book a sauna (see Extras), and enjoy a conversation around the campfire under the stars (BYO firewood or see Extras). Take a short, hot shower with a view of the hills, toilets and a camp kitchen (no microwave or fridge) inside a rustic barn with tables and chairs. Starlink is the newest additon to the farm though may not have coverage in the camping areas. Telstra has some coverage. The 135-acre farm in Tallebudgera Valley is home to cattle, chickens, worm farms and bee hives, plus local wildlife. Guests are invited to learn about regenerative agricultural practices such as how Jandarra is managing cattle to build soil biology and rebalance nature, using holistic management practices - moving the cattle every day using electric fences (to replace the predators) and small paddocks (26 of them actually). ABOUT REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE Jandarra is the 40th property in Australia to undertake the Ecological Outcome Verification (EOV) Process through the Savory Institute. EOV was developed in collaboration with leading soil scientists, ecologists, agronomists and an extensive network of regenerative land managers around the world. EOV is a practical and scalable soil and landscape assessment methodology that tracks outcomes in biodiversity, soil health, and ecosystem function (water cycle, mineral cycle, energy flow and community dynamics). Jandarra has 10 Short term monitoring sites plus one long-term monitoring site. By recognising both land regeneration targets and trends, EOV endorsement is bestowed as long as land health moves in a net positive direction with the third year monitoring event in April 2023 confirming the positive trend. We are easy to pull into and can cater for all size vans. Roads are all freshly gravelled and well maintained to cater for 2wd access also. Toilet and Water provided but respect us by taking your own rubbish with you. Beautiful little stream with rapids and rock holes to keep yourself cool in summer. More than welcome to bring hiking shoes, mountain bikes to go explore. As long as you respect the farm rules and if the gate is shut you shut it behind you. No 4wding is permitted on the farm. Animal feeding is an activity we provide with food available to buy for the animals. Firewood is also available to purchase on arrival Dogs allowed on leash, please respect all the other campers on site and generators are welcome to be used but need to be turned off at a respectable time.
