This urban park in El Paso commemorates the settlement of a 100-year boundary dispute between the United States and Mexico. A resolution adopted in the Chamizal Treaty of 1963 brought a peaceful end to the dispute. The grounds celebrate the diverse borderland cultures in a variety of vibrant ways.
The memorial's 55 acres are covered with wide, hard-packed gravel trails ideal for walking, jogging and biking. There's plentiful access to water and shaded benches.
The Cultural Center features an array of fascinating self-guided museum exhibits. The Franklin G. Smith Gallery is filled with striking artwork depicting the region's history.
