There are over 40 varieties of bamboo in our densely-packed 35-year-old Bamboo Forest. You are welcome to explore this unique forest by navigating through our meandering trail system. Elsewhere on the farm we have over 500 fruit trees, many farm animals, and 12 demonstration gardens. We offer seasonal educational programming from Spring-Fall, with various community classes, workshops and field trips for schools. The mission of Parker Learning Gardens involves immersing people of all ages in nature while demonstrating how to: grow food organically, tend to the land from an ecological perspective, incorporate animals in a regenerative way, and be conscious environmental stewards. If you are interested, there may be an option for a private educational tour for an additional fee (dependent on timing and availability). Otherwise, your stay will be private with open access to the trail system of our Bamboo Forest and huge Linden Tree Grove (approximately 5 acres of of beautiful wondering space to explore and unwind). We are about 5 miles from the I-5 exit in Coburg. The farm is located in the old floodplain of the Willamette River, with close access to places to swim just a short car drive away. Our south facing location gets ample sunshine most days and is surrounded on 3 sides by a forest of trees. The property is fenced and access is by gate. There are two seperate campsites which are separated by our central garden and bamboo plantings. Each campsite is limited to two people maximum for a total of four guests on the property at any time. On most days the maximum number of workers on the farm is two people (your hosts). This is a low traffic area. There is virtually no street traffic before 9 AM and none after 4 PM Mon-Sat and there is no traffic at all on Sundays. Site 1 aka Bamboo Camp is perfect for your van, truck, car or tent From 4/20 until 11/21 after that please contact host for available bookings during the winter months (Nov 21 - Apr 19) Arrangements with discounted rates can be made for van campers. Site 2 aka Freedom Camp is reserved exclusively for tents or bivvy bags. (Site is closed end of Oct till end of April) Both camp sites can use the contracted portable toilet located on the property. Alsea Valley Farm

Our farm is nestled at the end of Honey Grove Valley in the lush coastal mountains. The creek meanders through our seven acre property. The north side contains a field, small orchard, greenhouses and barn. The south side is steep and wooded with healthy riparian. An extension to the Honey Grove trail leads out of the property accessing seven miles of hiking and mountain bike trails. Nearby activities include hiking and mountain biking in Mary's Peak and Alsea Falls recreational area. Fishing access to the Alsea River is located 1.5 miles from the property on Honey Grove Road. The guest cabin has two rooms and can sleep (4) guests comfortably and up to (6) guests. It contains (2) queen size beds, one pull out couch, and an optional futon mattress and a fold out single bed. One bed is in a loft accessed by a ship ladder. There is a small kitchen and attached bathhouse. The toilet is non-flush, composting. From the designated parking area there is a 200 foot walk along a gravel path to the cabin. Other features include a fire pit, electric sauna, and creek access. Internet is available in the cabin. There is a Level 2 vehicle charger available for guests. The property also contains a host residence. The area around the residence is for the hosts. The cabin and the property are very quaint and inviting but also very rustic. Do not be surprised to see a few spiders and other bugs, the occasional bunny, wild turkeys, Garter Snakes by the ponds and newts on the trails. Please maintain good situational awareness when enjoying the property as structures and grounds may have some inherent hazards. Barn is off limits. Greenhouse and gardens are fine to explore as long as doors and gates are closed and dogs are kept out. Please refrain from harvesting produce and/or eggs unless accompanied or given permission from hosts directly.

Coastal Farm Sanctuary

Since 2015 we have been steadily regenerating the soils and improving this once completely barren property. We now have diverse plant life on the property which in turns attracts diverse wildlife including insects, birds and reptiles. Your stay here helps us to pay the bills and keep making this small patch of earth better. Our property sits on a sunny bench just back from the ocean and just above the fog line. Our south facing location gets ample sunshine most days and is surrounded on 3 sides by a forest of trees. The property is fenced and access is by gate. There are two seperate campsites which are separated by our central garden and bamboo plantings. Each campsite is limited to two people maximum for a total of four guests on the property at any time. On most days the maximum number of workers on the farm is two people (your hosts). This is a low traffic area. There is virtually no street traffic before 9 AM and none after 4 PM Mon-Sat and there is no traffic at all on Sundays. Site 1 aka Bamboo Camp is perfect for your van, truck, car or tent From 4/20 until 11/21 after that please contact host for available bookings during the winter months (Nov 21 - Apr 19) Arrangements with discounted rates can be made for van campers. Site 2 aka Freedom Camp is reserved exclusively for tents or bivvy bags. (Site is closed end of Oct till end of April) Both camp sites can use the contracted portable toilet located on the property. We keep it clean and odor free for a safe and sanitary camping experience. Hand sanitizer is also provided. Bring your bikes, boards and/or other outdoor gear! Many adventures can be had here on the central coast. Your hosts are avid surfers and cyclists and can help direct you to the best spots to match your skill level. Our property is close to town as well as road bike loops, gravel roads and mountain bike trails. We're also close to the beach and that's how we like it. Within 15 - 45 minutes drive surfers of all levels can find something fun to ride nearly everyday of summer and fall. The 18 hole golf course is just down the street from the property and the town of Waldport is only 2 miles away. Yachats is a short 12 minute drive to the south where you can find amazing plant based food and they serve fresh roasted coffee along with a large menu of other drinks and treats at The Green Salmon Cafe. Miles of white sand beaches are located just down the hill from us where you can walk all the way from the mouth of the Alsea river to the mouth of the Yachats river. Forested and easily accessible walking trails are also nearby. South of the property is Cape Perpetua which is a 2,700 acre nature wonderland with whales, tide pools and blowholes. It is located in the Siuslaw National Forest and includes a 26 mile trail system. Relax and enjoy the scenic 15 mile drive from the farm to get there. The Waldport city skatepark and the Red River disc golf course are just 1.2 miles from the property. There is a brand new skatepark in Yachats just 7 miles away. Restaurants, cafes, a bakery and bars as well as shopping, banking and even an open air market (on Wednesdays) can be found in downtown Waldport which is a short 2 miles from your campsite. We have some items such as bikes, surfboards, skateboards and more options available for rental (options will be shown when you book your site). Surf lessons for beginner and intermediate level are available. Guided surf sessions for intermediate and advanced level are available. Bring your Electric Vehicle! Overview

Stretching nearly 400 miles from the mouth of the Columbia River in the north to the edge of the California redwoods, the Oregon Coast is one of the most beautiful natural features of an undeniably stunning state. Here you’ll find a mix of artsy towns and majestic state parks, an extensive network of national forest biking and hiking trails, and mile upon mile of shoreline. Like the rest of the Pacific Northwest, there's plenty to experience here for lovers of the great outdoors, and numerous camping sites operated by Oregon State Parks.

Where to go

North Coast

A weekend getaway from Portland, this region features a mix of coastal communities—namely Astoria, Seaside, Cannon Beach, and Manzanita—plus plenty of state parks such as Hug Point State Recreation Site, famous for its tidepools. Other camping spots include historic Fort Stevens State Park, home to one of the largest campgrounds in the country (and a shipwreck), and Nehalem Bay State Park, which occupies a sand spit between Nehalem Bay and the Pacific. From here, it’s a short drive to Tillamook and Cape Lookout State Park, which offers tent sites, RV sites, cabins, and yurts—plus hot showers—at its Seaside campground.

Central Coast

Extending from Lincoln City down to the city of Florence, the Central Coast mixes developed areas and rugged forestland. Popular towns include Depoe Bay, which touts itself as the whale-watching capital of the Oregon Coast, and Newport, home to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse. When it comes to camping, consider Beverly Beach State Park, with its huge campground right by the beach, or South Beach State Park, just south of Newport.

South Coast

Extending from Florence down to the California border, Oregon’s South Coast is considered the state’s most picturesque stretch. It’s home to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, a massive stretch of sand dunes popular for off-highway vehicle (OHV) riding, and Coos Bay, the largest coastal Oregon City and a prime crabbing spot. Cape Blanco State Park marks the westernmost point in the state, while other beach camping spots include Humbug Mountain State Park near Port Orford and Harris Beach State Park near Brookings.
