Relax in Lava Hot Springs’ pools while hiking and camping in the mountains of southeast Idaho.
The name Lava Hot Springs speaks for itself as a premiere camping destination in Idaho. On top of luxurious hot springs, the town offers camping on the banks of the Portneuf River. Choose from in-town powered RV sites with hookups and firepits, riverside cabins, and tent campsites near on-site hot mineral pools, which are open year-round. Campers staying in summertime can also take advantage of free swimming in an Olympic swimming complex. Off-the-grid campsites with vault toilets and picnic tables near a flowing stream are closer to Bonneville Peak, the highest mountain in Bannock County. The mountain’s Pebble Creek Ski Area is great for skiing in winter and biking and hiking from May to August. Sedgwick Peak allows for ATV rides from late October until the end of June. Family-friendly and pet-friendly private campsites are close by for tents and RVs and are just a short walk to the Sedgwick Peak trailhead.
