Camping near Cascade guide

Overview

Less than a 2-hour drive along Highway 55 from Boise, Cascade is a small town offering big adventures. Perched on the southeast shore of Lake Cascade, Cascade is ground zero for water sports enthusiasts. Take to the water to enjoy boating, water skiing, and windsurfing; go kayaking and white-water rafting along the Payette River‌; or try your luck fishing for rainbow trout‌ and small-mouth bass. Some 86 miles of shoreline are encompassed within Lake Cascade State Park, which has ten developed campgrounds that include glamping yurts at Osprey Point and RV sites with full hookups at Poison Creek and Ridgeview, as well as group camping sites and dispersed camping areas. The fun doesn’t only take place by the lakeside either. Winter campers can go skiing in the West Mountains, and there are miles of hiking, mountain biking, and snowmobiling trails in Boise National Forest, along with more than 70 campgrounds.
