Ansel Watrous Campground
Description
Colorado is chock-full of canyons, but the Poudre Canyon of the northern front range just might be the best of them. This is where you’ll find Ansel Watrous Campground. With sites scattered along the banks of the Poudre River, you could practically cast a line into the river and catch dinner without even leaving your tent. Amazing hikes climb up either side of the river—we’d recommend Grey Rock or Young’s Gulch. And if you work up a mighty thirst after a long day of exploring, Fort Collins is just a short 22 miles away, where you’ll find some of the country’s best micro breweries.
