RV camping in Utah guide

Overview

With five national parks and dozens of state parks and national monuments and forests, Utah is a fantastic spot to explore by RV or camper. While RV sites in national parks are hard to come by, you’ll find plenty of options at both state park campgrounds and at private Hipcamps and RV parks outside cities like Park City, Salt Lake City, and southern Utah’s Moab. These run the gamut from developed sites with full hookups, wifi, and dump stations to primitive options where it’ll just be you, your RV, and the skies above. While Utah is best known for its massive rock formations and quiet desert landscapes made for mountain biking and ATVs, the state also has plenty of lush forests, particularly up north. Must-visit spots include Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks, both in the southwestern corner of the state, along with Lake Powell, which sits on the Colorado River on the Utah-Arizona border. If you're interested in archaeology head to Horseshoe Canyon or Dinosaur National Monument to check out ancient cave art.
