Description

Peaceful Valley Campground—if the name alone isn’t enough to entice the work-weary, a quick description about the setting will. Situated in a glacial valley next to Middle St. Vrain Creek, this campground as pretty as it is peaceful. Forest-covered mountains rise around you in every direction, and a wide variety of wildlife will likely be sharing the camp with you. After a long, stressful week, settle in at Peaceful Valley and remember why you came to Colorado in the first place.

The better campground is Camp Dick which you access by driving through Peaceful Valley. All fill up fast in the summer months due to the proximity to Boulder and Denver.

Large area is designated for a boy scout summer camp program. There are other spots near and around that are for the public and it has incredible views with little light pollution.

If Peaceful Valley is full, try Camp Dick. Terrible name, but it is right behind Peaceful Valley. For an even better experience, go into the backcountry, permit required. This is a great jumping off point for crossing the continental divide...although its a bit of a hike, so be prepared!
