I grew up here, and my family is the 5th generation to work this land. We've recently made many fun improvements after Dan and Mariah got married here two years ago, at the Married Manzanitas Campsite. Whaleback Ridge has consolidated! We currently offer two campsites, the Shaded Oak and the Married Manzanitas. Coming soon, after May 19, the Married Manzanitas Cabin will be added. Each main site is very private, and all sites share access to the "Hilltop 360 View Station" where you can find water, electricity, WiFi and access to civilization if you want it. TWO AVAILABLE SITES: 1. Shaded Oak: small RV/trailer accessible, this is a back-in site that also has a flat spot for a small tent. The back-in is slightly challenging; we recommend you drive to the top of the driveway (the Hilltop 360 View Station), and turn around for easier maneuvering. This site has a table, chairs, garbage can with bags, dish soap and a 5 gallon water jug for a "handwashing" station (well water, not harmful but not the best drinking water). All sites have their own compost toilet - yours has the Orange "Home Dumpo" (TM) - just be sure to add leaves/mulch on top. Garbage: take down your garbage on your way out, dumping in the grey and blue bins labeled "Hipcamp" by the main mailbox. 2. Married Manzanitas: tent or open star camping only, with mainly walk-in access to the site (about 30 yards). Driving in with 4WD or high clearance vehicles is optional and at your own risk of scratches/dents. You'll have a large table, chairs, flat spot for tent with a tarp available, your own compost toilet "throne" (your site has a large red throne - be sure to add leaves or mulch on top when you've finished using it). This site has a dishwashing and handwashing station, as well as utensils, dishes, and a camp stove available in drawers under the sink. *The handwashing station etc. is shared with Married Manzanitas Cabin IF both are rented out. *There is a non-heated shower at this site (yet there is 100 ft. of hose that heats naturally in the summer). You may need to walk to the hilltop station to turn on the hose, if you use it more than once. Note: The Married Manzanitas sites are also the only ones that do not accommodate a trailer or RV, since they are walk-in or 4WD only with limited clearance. SHARED: Hilltop 360 View Station: this is the place to find shared access to electricity, water, shower, propane grill, microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and lots of games! Everyone is welcome to drive or walk to the Hilltop - continue UP the driveway past your site- and at the TOP, veer left toward the "Welcome" sign and away from the main house (where we have tenants living). Park anywhere between the yellow shed and small white 'cabin' near the water tank. Keep walking past the cabin to the main hiking trail to the Whaleback Ridge. *The Hilltop 360 View Station is behind the Yellow Shed, where you'll find the sink and shower; inside the shed you'll find everything else. *Feel free to wash/rinse anything you want to use first, as dust, etc. is likely to accumulate. *Definitely clean, dry and return anything you used to avoid a $15 cleaning fee. *The large outdoor bathtub is available for an extra $15 per stay (add 'Extra' at booking or contact Dan if you decide to use it later). *Dan is no longer "on site" (most of the time) but available by text or call. In emergencies or stuck cars, our tenant/host at the main house can help for a $15 emergency help fee if he's available. Dan is the main point of contact by text. If you need WIFI to send a text, you can connect at the Hilltop 360 View Station. Router is 2WIREADOE and password is 61963948. *For hiking, you can explore most all parts of the property NORTH of the driveway/camps. You can get to "The Whaleback" most easily by walking to the "Hilltop 360 View Station" and walking left, past the white Coral Cabin, about 25 yards then taking your FIRST left trail and following the main trails which will cover the edges of our 34 acres, about 30-45 min. hike to the top of the ridge. If you reach the small pond, you've gone too far past the FIRST left trail. *The other way to access this trail is through our "Fern Gully", which is Northeast of the Shaded Oak (past the compost toilet and then 'right,' down the wash will get you to our streambed, then right again following the stream will eventually get you to the main trail). These trails do get overgrown, and it is wilderness. -rattlesnakes, ticks, and poison oak - long pants and hiking boots required. *Each camp has an outdoor compost toilet setup. You cover your biz with leaves/mulch/grasses and it starts breaking down and eliminates odor immediately. In general, please pee in a bush, or use the commode or blue bucket (depending on the site) and dump it in the bushes if you prefer. Please bring a roll of toilet paper to be sure it is available and dry (due to morning mist, other campers, etc). *We have an old dog! She is a husky-akida mix (her name is "Beautiful") and she will bark at first. She makes friends quickly; feel free to meet her and show you're friendly, then ignore her and/or play with her! But please don't feed her human food, and watch your food (!). If you bring pets, they should be fine! If yours is at all questionable with new dogs, please just introduce them slowly at first, and then they should get along famously. Throwing a toy or stick should work, or if available, give her a dog treat. We let them out in the morning and evening but try to keep them out of your space most of the time. *Steer clear of the neighbors down the hill - the first house you see when you drive up the driveway. Please do not disturb them. *When you book, a google doc will be sent to you which you can download as a PDF on your phone to keep available when you lose WiFi. *This is a beautiful, serene, and peaceful spot! We invite you to come contribute to that energy.

Generations of families have visited the area to rest along the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Lawson's Landing is located about 50 miles north of San Francisco and 20 miles west of Petaluma at Dillon Beach. The Landing was first established in 1929 and the family-owned and operated campground has been running since 1957. From camping to clamming to boating, there are so many activities to enjoy. Hookups: At this time we don't have hookups available at our campsites, but things have progressed significantly with our redevelopment permits, so in the future, more will be coming. At this time, we offer potable water throughout the campground for tank filling and dump stations available for your use during your stay. **There is no truck service to go to your campsite to pump waste from your tanks** Cellular Coverage/Wifi: Verizon has full cellular coverage in Dillon Beach, AT&T has spotty reception, and we are unsure as to the coverage provided by other services. We do offer free guest wifi from our camp store (the big red building near campsites 500 & 601), but the wifi will not reach the campsites.

The Meadow Grove of Hands Full Farm

The Grove (5 total) campsites are located near the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad bed on a family owned working ranch in coastal Northern California. The camp sites are nestled in a pasture and grove of mixed Eucalyptus, willow and cypress trees. The sites are perfect for tents or camper vans, or small trailers. There are no hook-ups for RVs (the access to the camp sites also prohibits long vehicles). There is access to a composting camp toilet. The ranch itself is 300 acres of rolling hills pasture, with hilltop views of the Estero Americano valley. The Grove is home to many varieties of raptors and other birds-providing excellent bird watching. Seasonally there are blackberries to fill your containers, and some hiking. The sites are subject to some road noise, as we are right on Hwy 1. We are mere minutes from the quaint towns of Valley Ford, Tomales, and Dillon Beach, and a short drive from Bodega, Bodega Bay or Marshall, Pt. Reyes Station and Inverness. Nearby attractions include: Sonoma Coast beaches, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, coastal hiking trails, local farm-to-table eateries. Inland attractions include: redwoods, wine tasting, Russian River activities and so much more. Specifics about these campsites are: They each come with a picnic table (#1,#2, has a checkerboard painted on it-bring checkers or chess!)The grounds are a working ranch, so there is variations of the soil- some lumps and bumps and general natural state of a pasture v. a groomed lawn. There are certainly level places for tents and camper vans or trailers. The ranch borders Hwy 1, so there is some degree of road noise. Traffic usually dies down mid afternoon, and isn't too much of a disturbance. There can be however, some heavy weekend traffic during the day with car clubs and motorcycle riders enjoying the coastal highway. Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

We have four lovely Glamping sites at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, nestled in the glorious chaparral of the Mayacama Mountain Range and Sonoma Hills, deep in the heart of wine country. In our family-friendly campground, we installed three 16-Foot Canvas Glamping Tents, replete with warm and cozy furnishings, and other amenities you will love. The cost is $150 per night on weekends (Fri and Sat) and $125 per night on weekdays (Sun-Thurs). There is a 2-night minimum stay required between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Each canvas tent comes with a queen-size bed, futon lounge chairs, rugs, tables, lighting, and complementary firewood the first night. At no additional cost, we can add up to two twin beds to each tent upon request to sleep up to 6 people. 8 people max allowed at the campsite. The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for your additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center. PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible. If no bedding is added, we will assume a one-queen setup with mattress covers only. We kindly ask guests to provide at least 48-hour notice if bedding will be required. We will always try to accommodate last-minute requests, but we cannot guarantee this. PETS and SMOKING ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE our glamping tents! This is strictly enforced, and you WILL be charged a $150 cleaning fee for any violation of this policy. Parking: Your reservation includes parking for one vehicle. Finley Camp

Finley Camp is nestled along Finley Creek in West Sonoma County. Campsites are located in open flats surrounded by Coast Doug Fir, Alder, and California Bay forests. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire pit with cooking grate, and access to a porta potty and hand washing station. The campsites are located past the end of the county road allowing for a quiet peaceful experience. Enjoy a quiet stroll on site, the surrounding communities of Bodega, Bodega Bay, Valley Ford, and Tomales, or just enjoy a quiet day in camp. Our sites are located approximately 20 minutes from Bodega Bay. The campsites are 2.5 miles from the coast and the weather can be unpredictable. As a general rule, it is very similar to that of San Francisco. All camp sites are situated in a valley that offers protection from the coastal winds. The have both morning and evening shade. Sites #2, #6, #7, and #11 have the most space, while sites #4, #7, #8, #9 and #11 offer the most privacy. Sites 1-3, any combination of 5-7, and 12-13 are well suited for groups. Other site groupings work well depending on the number of sites being reserved. Site #8 is unique in that it has a wood deck/platform for tents. There are also NO wood fires allowed at site #8 as it is under the tree canopy. A propane firepit is provided for your use. You can bring a 5 gallon propane tank from home, or a full one is available for rent on site. We have beef available for purchase from calves raised exclusively on our ranch. This beef is 100% grass fed and finished and never given grain of any kind. We have various cuts available such as steaks, ground, roasts, ribs, or other various specialty cuts. All beef is cut and wrapped by a USDA certified butcher. It is raised in an organic manner from cows that freely roam on the pastures of the coastal hills we call home. For further information or for a price sheet, please inquire with the camp host. Well behaved dogs are welcome at Finley Camp. All dogs must be kept on leash at all times while on the property. There are no exceptions to this. Finley Camp is located on an active cattle ranch and directly adjacent to a neighboring ranch with cattle. Also be sure to check out our orchard tours. The apples ripen from Late July thru late November. We'll take you to our family orchard where you can pick apples, pears, or blueberries in season and taste yummy treats out of our family garden.

There are 3 sites next to the pond, we have one that is there all the time in the summer but those folks only come a couple of times each month. The 2 others are right next to each other near the pond. We haven't started having more than one rented at a time yet but do expect to start that soon. You may have a neighbor or 2. About the Listing: Come park your RV on our property and set up camp at a beautiful spot right next to the pond. You should expect to see us on the property, though your site is well away from the house We have minimal electrical and we do have water hookups available for your RV, we do allow generators. There is a BBQ grill that you are welcome to use for cooking some wonderful meals if you'd like! You can enjoy a bite to eat at the picnic table near your campsite. There is also potable water from our natural spring available onsite for guests. You can enjoy watching the birds, turkeys and deer that meander through the meadow, and feel free to roam around the property taking in the fresh outdoor air! Salmon Creek Ranch

Located within 45 minutes of the wine country and 2 miles from the coast, our property is 400 acres of rolling hills and redwood groves, with a creek running along its base. With miles of trails meandering through quiet woods and meadows, you will be able to revel in the tranquility of a private preserve, without sacrificing easy access to some of Sonoma County's most famous attractions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Whether it's surfing at sandy beaches, award-winning clam chowder, a wine tour, horseback riding or a hot air balloon ride you're after, you won't have far to drive if you make our ranch your base camp. The Olive Farm

Excellent Group Site! We only host one group at a time so you can be with your family and friends in a large, flat and private space. We listed the site for up to 12 campers but feel free to reach out if your group is bigger. Please check out the newest addition of our cabin bunkhouse. Take a look at the pictures - you can add it to your stay as an extra when you book! The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward. 'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here. This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground. Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days. This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers. Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. I grew up here, and my family is the 5th generation to work this land. We've recently made many fun improvements after Dan and Mariah got married here two years ago, at the Married Manzanitas Campsite. Whaleback Ridge has consolidated! We currently offer two campsites, the Shaded Oak and the Married Manzanitas. Coming soon, after May 19, the Married Manzanitas Cabin will be added. Each main site is very private, and all sites share access to the "Hilltop 360 View Station" where you can find water, electricity, WiFi and access to civilization if you want it. TWO AVAILABLE SITES: 1. Shaded Oak: small RV/trailer accessible, this is a back-in site that also has a flat spot for a small tent. The back-in is slightly challenging; we recommend you drive to the top of the driveway (the Hilltop 360 View Station), and turn around for easier maneuvering. This site has a table, chairs, garbage can with bags, dish soap and a 5 gallon water jug for a "handwashing" station (well water, not harmful but not the best drinking water). All sites have their own compost toilet - yours has the Orange "Home Dumpo" (TM) - just be sure to add leaves/mulch on top. Garbage: take down your garbage on your way out, dumping in the grey and blue bins labeled "Hipcamp" by the main mailbox. 2. Married Manzanitas: tent or open star camping only, with mainly walk-in access to the site (about 30 yards). Driving in with 4WD or high clearance vehicles is optional and at your own risk of scratches/dents. You'll have a large table, chairs, flat spot for tent with a tarp available, your own compost toilet "throne" (your site has a large red throne - be sure to add leaves or mulch on top when you've finished using it). This site has a dishwashing and handwashing station, as well as utensils, dishes, and a camp stove available in drawers under the sink. *The handwashing station etc. is shared with Married Manzanitas Cabin IF both are rented out. *There is a non-heated shower at this site (yet there is 100 ft. of hose that heats naturally in the summer). You may need to walk to the hilltop station to turn on the hose, if you use it more than once. Note: The Married Manzanitas sites are also the only ones that do not accommodate a trailer or RV, since they are walk-in or 4WD only with limited clearance. SHARED: Hilltop 360 View Station: this is the place to find shared access to electricity, water, shower, propane grill, microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and lots of games! Everyone is welcome to drive or walk to the Hilltop - continue UP the driveway past your site- and at the TOP, veer left toward the "Welcome" sign and away from the main house (where we have tenants living). Park anywhere between the yellow shed and small white 'cabin' near the water tank. Keep walking past the cabin to the main hiking trail to the Whaleback Ridge. *The Hilltop 360 View Station is behind the Yellow Shed, where you'll find the sink and shower; inside the shed you'll find everything else. *Feel free to wash/rinse anything you want to use first, as dust, etc. is likely to accumulate. *Definitely clean, dry and return anything you used to avoid a $15 cleaning fee. *The large outdoor bathtub is available for an extra $15 per stay (add 'Extra' at booking or contact Dan if you decide to use it later). *Dan is no longer "on site" (most of the time) but available by text or call. In emergencies or stuck cars, our tenant/host at the main house can help for a $15 emergency help fee if he's available. Dan is the main point of contact by text. If you reach the small pond, you've gone too far past the FIRST left trail. *The other way to access this trail is through our "Fern Gully", which is Northeast of the Shaded Oak (past the compost toilet and then 'right,' down the wash will get you to our streambed, then right again following the stream will eventually get you to the main trail). These trails do get overgrown, and it is wilderness. -rattlesnakes, ticks, and poison oak - long pants and hiking boots required. *Each camp has an outdoor compost toilet setup. You cover your biz with leaves/mulch/grasses and it starts breaking down and eliminates odor immediately. In general, please pee in a bush, or use the commode or blue bucket (depending on the site) and dump it in the bushes if you prefer. Please bring a roll of toilet paper to be sure it is available and dry (due to morning mist, other campers, etc). *We have an old dog! She is a husky-akida mix (her name is "Beautiful") and she will bark at first. She makes friends quickly; feel free to meet her and show you're friendly, then ignore her and/or play with her! But please don't feed her human food, and watch your food (!). If you bring pets, they should be fine! If yours is at all questionable with new dogs, please just introduce them slowly at first, and then they should get along famously. Throwing a toy or stick should work, or if available, give her a dog treat. We let them out in the morning and evening but try to keep them out of your space most of the time. *Steer clear of the neighbors down the hill - the first house you see when you drive up the driveway. The Meadow Grove of Hands Full Farm

The Grove (5 total) campsites are located near the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad bed on a family owned working ranch in coastal Northern California. The camp sites are nestled in a pasture and grove of mixed Eucalyptus, willow and cypress trees. The sites are perfect for tents or camper vans, or small trailers. There are no hook-ups for RVs (the access to the camp sites also prohibits long vehicles). There is access to a composting camp toilet. The ranch itself is 300 acres of rolling hills pasture, with hilltop views of the Estero Americano valley. The Grove is home to many varieties of raptors and other birds-providing excellent bird watching. Seasonally there are blackberries to fill your containers, and some hiking. The sites are subject to some road noise, as we are right on Hwy 1. We are mere minutes from the quaint towns of Valley Ford, Tomales, and Dillon Beach, and a short drive from Bodega, Bodega Bay or Marshall, Pt. Reyes Station and Inverness. Nearby attractions include: Sonoma Coast beaches, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, coastal hiking trails, local farm-to-table eateries. Inland attractions include: redwoods, wine tasting, Russian River activities and so much more. Specifics about these campsites are: They each come with a picnic table (#1,#2, has a checkerboard painted on it-bring checkers or chess!)The grounds are a working ranch, so there is variations of the soil- some lumps and bumps and general natural state of a pasture v. a groomed lawn. His family comes from a long line of dairy farmers who have resided here since the 1950's. Mary and Dave met 20 years ago after Mary moved to Sonoma from San Francisco. We purchased the land from Dave's family a few years ago. We're currently in the process of developing 2.5 acres and are excited to share a piece of our history with you. 23 beautiful acres at the top of the mountain overlooking the valley below and the mountains on the other side. We are often Above the Clouds in the mornings. You will need to come up a windy country road to get to us but it will be well worth it. Learn more about this land: Welcome to our Above the Clouds RV spot, tucked away in between Napa and Sonoma Valleys - right in the middle of wine country! This is the perfect peaceful getaway near great outdoor activities and some of the best wineries in California! About the Property: Above the Clouds campsite is surrounded by beautiful, stately trees and overlooks the Valley of the Moon with a stunning mountain view. We are just 11 miles from the city of Sonoma and only 8 miles from the Napa Valley - making both destinations really easy to get to. You can enjoy the California wineries, restaurants, and shops that you'd like! We are also ideally located near Jack London State Park - which is a really pretty and historic place to go! The opportunities for hiking around our property are endless, and definitely head to the wineries if that's of interest to you. On our property you can enjoy exploring our more-than 20 acres of land, taking the row-boat (provided by Hosts) out on our pond, hiking or just relaxing in a serene setting and watching a great variety of birds. Formerly utilized as a bed and breakfast, when we moved to the property we definitely wanted to continue sharing the land and views with guests. As hosts, we are around and enjoy getting to know the our visitors if you are up for that, otherwise we are also happy to respect total privacy. There are 3 sites next to the pond, we have one that is there all the time in the summer but those folks only come a couple of times each month. The 2 others are right next to each other near the pond. We haven't started having more than one rented at a time yet but do expect to start that soon. You may have a neighbor or 2. We hope you enjoy the beautiful sunsets and being literally above the clouds as much as we do! About the Listing: Come park your RV on our property and set up camp at a beautiful spot right next to the pond. You should expect to see us on the property, though your site is well away from the house We have minimal electrical and we do have water hookups available for your RV, we do allow generators. There is a BBQ grill that you are welcome to use for cooking some wonderful meals if you'd like! You can enjoy a bite to eat at the picnic table near your campsite. There is also potable water from our natural spring available onsite for guests. You can enjoy watching the birds, turkeys and deer that meander through the meadow, and feel free to roam around the property taking in the fresh outdoor air! Additional Details to Note: - Check-in is after 2pm and check-out is before 12pm - Things to bring: Everything you need to camp comfortably! Think: toilet paper, cookware, bathing suits if you like, etc. - We do not have wifi available on site and cell reception is spotty, especially for certain carriers. Please prepare accordingly for your travels and your stay. - There is a fire ban in effect, so please no campfires, but we do allow you to use a propane fire pit if you bring it yourself. - We welcome your pets! They can be off leash if they are friendly and if they don't run off - we do not have a fence. - You can contact us if you'd like to check in early - if nobody needs to check out, we are happy to accommodate you! This is Sonoma wine country, where you can ride a horse through a sunlit vineyard or hike to epic Pacific views. Tucked between the hills, you’ll find campsites for every style. Walk to a wine-tasting from a cozy RV park, book a luxury yurt, or sleep in silence near the Russian River.

Throughout Sonoma County, regional parks offer affordable camping. Near Santa Rosa, take in breathtaking mountain views from your picnic table at Spring Lake Campground. With 10 miles of trails and a large reservoir, this park is ideal for hiking, biking, and swimming.

Prefer to stay near the ocean? On Bodega Bay, Doran and Westside offer beach access and sport fishing. Camp on the rocky, quiet Sonoma coast at Stillwater Cove or Gualala Point. As you hike the ocean bluffs, be sure to watch for whales offshore.

If redwood camping is more your speed, head to Samuel P. Taylor State Park. The tent and RV sites (no hookups) have fire rings and drinking water. Nearby, biking trails and a wheelchair-accessible path run by lovely Lagunitas Creek.

The best part? Since Sonoma has a mild climate, you can camp year-round. From November through February, bring warm layers for days in the 50s and 60s. Evenings are cool and foggy year round, so a jacket is a must.
