RV camping near Boston guide

Overview

History, culture, and nature meet head-on in Boston’s metropolitan melting pot, and the harborside city makes a worthy destination for any RV road trip. For the easiest access to downtown, park your rig at Ponkapoag Pond or Glen Echo Pond on the south side, or Harold Parker State Forest to the north. There’s great forest camping at Wompatuck State Park, surrounded by hiking and biking trails, but if you want full hookups and all the amenities, choose one of the RV resorts dotted along the coast. Speaking of coastal camping, you can’t visit Boston without exploring the Cape Cod National Seashore, and self-contained RVs can overnight in the park (permits required) or camp at nearby Nickerson State Park. Wherever you camp, don’t miss a walk along Boston’s Freedom Trail, a visit to Fenway Park and the New England Aquarium, and a cruise to the Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park.
