Reyes Peak Campground
Description
Close to Santa Barbara, Reyes Peak Campground is a high mountain escape that offers sweeping views of the Cuyama Badlands and even the Channel Islands! Once you settle into the quaint camp, in a grove of pines and fir, you can head out on the Chorro Grande Trail, Raspberry Spring Trail, or the Reyes Peak Trail. After all that hiking, you’ll be looking forward to that cooler full of cold ones waiting for you back at camp!

I stayed at Reyes Peak campsite from Friday 8/4/2017 to Sunday 8/6/2017. Upon arrival at 1pm on Friday, there was one other group that had set up at campsite #5 and by 6pm, all six campsites were full. Several campsites were still available at Pine Mountain down the road. Try to grab sites #5 or #6 as they are the most private and spacious. #6 has the best view and when a Ranger stopped by to chat, he mentioned that #6 was also his favorite. The other sites are a bit too close to the road. All the sites have a low fire pit and a high BBQ grill so bring charcoal to cook your dinner. The road was paved a few years ago so the ride up is smooth but narrow so drive slowly. Unfortunately we didn't see any Condors.
Amazing campsites, one of a kind experience in Ventura Co.
