RV camping in Rhode Island guide

Overview

Little Rhodie might be the smallest state in the US, but it packs in an impressive 45 National Historic Landmarks, 22 state parks, and beaches, and—despite not actually being an island—more than 400 miles of Atlantic coastline. RV campers won’t have to drive far to find a campground (in fact, you can drive across the entire state in about an hour), whether you prefer a family-friendly RV park with full hookups and pull-through campsites or getting back to nature. Hit the hiking trails at George Washington State Park or enjoy boating and birding at Burlingame State Park, both of which have popular rustic campgrounds or, if your rig has 4WD, camp right on the sand at East Beach. Beachside campsites fill up quickly in summer, so book ahead to snag a spot at Fishermen's Memorial State Park or the oceanside Charlestown Breachway (self-contained RVs only).
