Nestled on 20 private acres 1/2 mile from the ocean and just out of the fog line, Trip Camp is quiet, off-grid forest camping, but minutes from town. You can still hear the waves most nights! Plan to meet us before 7pm check in cut off for your guided walk to camp sites!
Trip Camp is an easy 15 minute walk to the beach, crossing highway 101. Yachats is 3 miles away. It's possible to walk to Yachats via the beach and 804 trail system.
Cape Perpetua scenic area is 5 miles away and hosts many great trails. Heceta Head Lighthouse and the world famous Sea Lion Caves are 18 miles to the south.
A small trail system exists on property which you are welcome to explore. Trip Camp backs wooded and forestry lands. Wild black bear and cougar live in this the area. Plan accordingly. We have never had an issue with one of these animals, (we suggest you store food in your car away from your camp area).
We generally do not allow fires due to fire risk, but are actively experimenting with options we that might work outside of fire season. Only camp stoves are currently allowed.
We are a working and developing homestead. Though the campsites are further back in the forest, upfront (and where you park) you will encounter our greenhouse, home, children's play area. Do not be surprised to see a tractor moving about and handling our ongoing farm operations. If you've got elementary age children, our kiddo is looking forward to saying hello (heck, they want to say hello to everyone, who are we kidding)!

Purchased in 2013, building out our property has been a labor of love, and is always a work in progress. We wanted to live somewhere where things move slower and where we can have a more intimate connection with the land.
We raise over 30 chickens, garden, and forage the natural abundance of the area, from berries to mushrooms.
In our forest, there are deer, coyote, rabbit, bear, skunk, raccoon, squirrels and chipmunks, various owls, bald eagles, weasels, cougar, bobcat, and any other number of critters.
The Trip Camp sites sit on the historical Spruce Logging Railway Camps of the early 20th century.
During WW1, some conscientious objectors were sent to work camps such as the one here to log the first and second growth spruce trees for the war effort. When they finished the narrow gauge railway system to transport the logs in 1919, the war effort was over and was taken over by private logging concerns.

Come camp, reset and recharge on the beautiful central Oregon coast. Nestled in the lush Beavercreek valley, we are just outside the fog zone in our own sweet little weather bubble. We have a variety of wetland wildlife here including a visiting elk herd, a large and beautiful variety of birds and various small critters.. Early summer dawn bird song is just amazing! 🎶 It’s lush and green and feels like the earth is hugging you when you’re camping in the carefully carved in marsh-field nooks. There are various camp “sites” to choose from, in the big field or the smaller meadow, with shade and/or sunshine & you choose which spot you’d like to stay in once you arrive.
Feel free to check out all of the Barn and other communal spaces like: the beautiful dome for chillin in, stargazing bed in the tall field grass, the “Wookie Nook”- secret relaxing nurselog tree in the far right of the field, lounge chairs under the Cedar in the meadow, forest walk, the Legacy Lounge-art, antique and family memorabilia room-through the mural painted door…make yourself at home 💝
It is generally quiet and peaceful out here and a super sweet rustic getaway. Weekends of course are more lively, but still plenty room to spread out and have your own peaceful space.
You can have solitude out at your camp, or come to the communal barn areas for a more social time. Inside the Barn has a more “hostel” feel with couches and lounge areas, dining room area tables and chairs, dance floor with Labyrinth to walk, stage, hula hoops, fun props, art and antiques to enjoy! The Black light art and ping pong room is not to miss!!
There’s a Full kitchen (minus an oven) in the corner of the barn with all you need to cook, serve and eat. (Charcoal)Bbq shed outside the barn next to the communal fire pit. Just past those is the cedar shingled shower house with a wood fired sauna too. (I generally have firewood for sale here.) There’s 4 Porta potties on-site, but also, please feel free to pee outside. 😁
On the way to the HeArt Barn, just off of hwy 101 is Ona Beach state park. There you can kayak, canoe, paddleboard -or some even swim- on the east side of the hwy. The beach and beautiful state park is on the west side with Beaver creek flowing through it and a lovely bridge over it. We are just 5 minute drive form there. There are a couple hikes along the way, and also for jogging or biking..
I believe in living as simply and peacefully as possible, in harmony with all neighbors of all species; -plants, animals and humans- in order to do my part to sustain healthy life on this planet. Lighthouse Lookout at Heceta Beach

Lighthouse Lookout is a is a 1300 square foot home with breathtaking views and quick access to the beach, just across the street. It was built in 2000, but the design was inspired by the Heceta Lighthouse Keeper's House. While not a 150 year old coastal cabin, there is a theme of 'warmth and comfort' from the storm. Those old buildings were-are cold and drafty - we've not had problems keeping salt shaker from caking, or candles flickering! - even when the rain is blowing hard against the house. It is a fantastic spot for watching winter storms.
On the first level of the house which is up all of those stairs you see in the photo, you'll find the main living area. Which includes the galley kitchen, dining room & living room all with fantastic views. There is also a bathroom, laundry room and queen bedroom on this floor and quick access to the back deck to enjoy the morning sun or the immense front porch for watching, whales, pelicans, bald eagles and many other birds.
Up the stairs takes you to the second floor where you'll find an open loft with a twin bed, desk and TV. In addition there are 2 more queen bedrooms and another bathroom. You even have a view of the lighthouse and the sea lion caves from the north bedroom.

The Captain Cook is just 2 blocks from the beach. You can see the ocean from the street in front of the house, which is nestled among wild rhododendrons and windswept coastal pines. A large (1/4+ acre) lot envelops you in nature and opportunity to enjoy your coastal experience. A central entry and parking spot is gated from the street and has a second, large separately gated driveway with space for vehicles such as a toy hauler or boat trailer.Once inside, the open floor plan with kitchen, living room, and dining room welcome you to 1100 square foot recently (2020) built home. Vaulted ceilings, large windows, and step-free entry from car to most outside entrances invite the outside in- and the inside out to the varied, and sometimes whimsical gardens and coastal forest. A separate entry to an to an apartment above is only used during the owners. occasional visits. An eclectic mix of antique, exotic, and new furniture gives the home a cozy comfortable feel. A traditional oak table seating 4-6 is easily expanded if you want to have friends or relatives over for dinner. The living room has a sofa lounge, a large book collection, and a 43 inch TV with Roku streaming internet TV programming, and dimmable lighting throughout the home lets you set a mood for most every space.The kitchen caters to those who like to socialize while cooking, having a large center island with seating for four, an unusual 5 burner electric range (with typical microwave above and of course a dishwasher), a very accessible french door refrigerator/freezer, and generously sized cabinets. The cooking tools, gadgets, and cooking and serving ware are supplemented with a stand mixer, bread maker, panini grill, blender, coffee maker, and even a waffle iron. the kitchenThe amply-sized bedroom has a queen size bed, large closet, a direct door to the bathroom, and a sliding glass door out to a private deck with a view of the hillside garden (early cup of coffee, anyone?). There's also another streaming TV.The office/tv/guest room across from the hallway door to the bathroom has a classic drop front desk with drawers and hanging clothes rack for additional guests, a large tv. A queen sofa-sleeper with a 5 inch memory foam mattress comfortably sleeps 2 adults or your children. Homeowner Rich purchased a home on this site in 2002, living here full time until 2006, when he and Joode, having married in 2005, returned to her home in the UK. Rich retired in 2013 following careers in education, forestry and national parks, tours/travel in the USA, and retail garden centers in the USA and UK. Truly one of the most beautiful areas of the Oregon coast, activities in the region abound. Crabbing and fishing are centralized in Winchester Bay, about 10 minutes away. You are also located very near the mouth of the mighty Umpqua River, one of the best salmon fisheries in the state. Easy access to the coastal dunes is available up and down HWY 101 both North and South. Winchester Bay offers the closest entrance to the dunes where you can ride atvs and 4x4s and permits can be purchased in town.
Stunning options for hiking, biking and mushroom hunting surround you here on the central Oregon Coast. With rainforest on one side of HWY 101 and coastal dunes on the other, there are many opportunities to explore different types of forested areas and trails.
Wildlife enthusiasts are just minutes away from the Dean Creek Elk Viewing wildlife recreational area on HWY 38. This large herd can be seen daily grazing in the meadows.

We are working cleaning up forest for safety in fire season. Clearing dead and unhealthy trees and brush. Also looking to improving the land and making it healthy for the wild critters and more enjoyable for everyone. Apologies for any inconveniences it may cause while land is being restored and grass grows back in some spots.
We've opened up a bigger space to the creek and going to Make bigger and better ponds and swimming holes. It's much needed.

It will make camping experience more enjoyable as well for the future.
Also, We are putting up a 20' Tipi this weekend and we plan on fixing up the inside proper and will be renting it out to those interested in sleeping in a Tipi. It will most likely sleep 6-8 depending on bedding I can fit inside.

25 years I’ve been here on this secret land Located in the Willamette Valley. We have tons of wildlife as well as animals here on the land.
We have we have drum circles, sweats, gatherings, group bonfires where you can sit out around the fire and see every star in the sky .
This was a Christmas tree farm years ago, and I have let it go natural. I’ve planted new trees and now we live amongst our own forests .
We hope to one day have tree houses, earth ships, Tipis and log cabins to rent. We are open to RVs and fifth wheels but no plug-ins yet. We’re a work in progress So it’s tent camping for now . Hope you come and visit us
There are Rv and 5th wheel spots but you must be self contained.

We are almost 20 acres of county and forests, about 24 miles NW of Famous Eugene Oregon, And we are nestled in between Fern Ridge reservoir and triangle Lake, headed to the Florance coast. We have 2 year round running creeks and 3 beautiful forests.
We are a work in progress, but we have a year-round working farm. We grow our own food, flowers and animals. We are currently working on a big outdoor kitchen, where we will have pizza ovens, canning facilities and a beautiful place to gather in the woods. Again still a work in progress.
Some spots have fire pits. Again depending on time of year and heat conditions. Because we have so many trees, we have to make sure no fires are to close to any tree's.
Again, please Ask before burning. No random burning unless oked by land owners. Thank you for for helping to keep everyone safe.
We have numerous ponds throughout the property and swimming holes. We turned the 4 stall barn into a music room where we gather and host events. Soon we will have designated Spots, equipped with fire rings. We will have teepees, tree houses, glamping tents. As of now we have room for numerous big groups spots for tent camping. Soon we’ll have plug-ins for RV and fifth wheel travelers.
We have alot of space to camp and still have your privacy.
Currently we have an out house and hose shower and you can also use the potty Under the Star's.
We provide Toilet paper and try to keep stocked but, just ask if outhouses are out of paper.
There are lovely walking trails throughout the property and tranquil sitting areas. We will update our progress as it happens. Hope to see you soon..
Remember to bring your own cooking equipment like grills. There's a cleaning station near shower.
Water is straight from the well and beautiful drinking water.

An architectural dream, you enter this lodge style home through a pivoting hobbit style front door with hardware from the 1800's. Highlights of this original home include a gourmet kitchen with labradorite granite counters, 800 year old juniper tree spiral stair case, huge beams and exposed rafters, a sauna, and a romantic wood stove. Also each upstairs bedroom has a hanging bed with three 8 foot skylights above for indoor star gazing. Original artworks from local artists are throughout the home. Many pleasantries await the curious such as embedded fossils in the cracked mud walls.Nestled amongst towering fir and cedar trees, with windows everywhere, you'll feel and see nature's presence. This home site has a remarkably peaceful way about it.
Recently featured in Southern Oregon Magazine and KCBY 11 TV's ~In Focus~ 'Goin' Green' and Oregon's Solar Home Tour, this is a unique 'green' home. This home was built with environmentally friendly materials. Building with little impact on the surroundings was very important to us during construction. The myrtle hardwood floor in the kitchen and living room was milled on site which came from trees that stood where the house is now. Same story for the beautiful maple flooring in the ½ bath. All of the large beams and fir flooring came from two 4' thick 104 year old douglas fir trees which also stood and were milled where the house is now. The fir trees sprouted after the last forest fire that came through the canyon. One of our neighbors fell a sixty five year old redwood that was over six feet thick! We used some of it as a wonderful wainscot paneling throughout the house. All of the finishes used are no or low VOC. Surrounding the house is native vegetation, huge trees and a few herbs and spices for cooking.
You'll enjoy the fully equipped kitchen with labradorite granite counters. The kitchen island has a new five burner gas stove with a convection oven and warming oven. The island has plenty of granite and wood counter space. Hanging from the exhaust hood are stainless, non-stick, and cast iron cookware. We also provide shade grown fair trade coffee and a grinder, espresso machine, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, utensils, chef knives, glasses and frosty cocktail glasses in the freezer. The dining room table has a river view and can seat six comfortably. There is also seating for three at the island bar. From the kitchen you can visit with the folks in the living room thanks to the open floor plan. Beside the wood stove are two chairs and the futon couch with reading lamp. A CD changer, TV with a DVD player and VHS machine are in the downstairs bedroom. Bring your favorite videos or browse our selection of movies.
The property has 150 feet of creek frontage with great views of Glenn creek, the forest and distant cliffs. Enjoy wildlife viewing with River Dippers, Chipmunks, Kingfishers, Great Blue Herons, Screech Owls, Pileated Wood Peckers, Elk, an occasional Bald Eagle or River Otter and other wildlife from the house and back deck. Build a fire and have lunch on the nearby picnic table and benches.

Overview
Despite being one of the rainier parts of a very rainy state, the Oregon Coast has some of the best camping options in the Pacific Northwest, with ample camping available in Fort Stevens State Park, Nehalem Bay State Park, Umpqua Lighthouse State Park, Beverly Beach State Park, Cape Lookout State Park, and Harris Beach State Park. All of these Oregon state parks have tent sites, and many also have electrical sites or full hookup sites, plus yurts. While most Oregon Coast campgrounds are in the woods just offshore, sometimes a short drive from the nearest beach access point, many are within a few steps of Sandy beaches. There are also plenty of privately owned options, from cabins to RV sites, available for rent through Hipcamp. Just expect crowds if you come in the summer months, which are relatively dry and warm.
