Sanctuary at Little Sand is part of Shaner Farms North. We acquired this property from a logging company in 2016 with the goal to have a wedding with a camping experience. We developed the property to provide an eco-friendly rustic camping venue for our wedding the summer of 2015 and now we would like to share the amazing views and serenity of this place with fellow nature lovers. Escape the city and experience the tranquility of nature. Sanctuary at Little Sand enables you to disconnect from things (no cell signal or WIFI available) and reconnect with people and the environment. Try a slice of glamping life in our 12 x 14 Safari tent. Ideal for couples, families and special events. Our eco-friendly camping experience gives you the opportunity to experience nature without roughing it. Our eco-glamping tents are set up for simple and fresh comfort with real mattresses, cotton linens and minimal furniture; however at the end of the day, this is still the Northwoods there are mosquitoes and wood ticks (depending on the season). This may not be for everyone, as there are coyotes that howl at sunset, owls that hoot, flying squirrels, a couple of palliated woodpeckers that stay busy, deer, our resident porcupine that likes to roam around the property, the millions of stars and no major modern facilities. We provide a composting toilet and a solar camping shower, basics for cooking over the fire or a camping stove (bring your own fuel). Camping with us means no electricity or running water (we provide drinking water), so come prepared. We are 2 miles from the beach at Little Sand Bay, 10 minutes from Meyers Beach and the Caves and 15 minutes away from the town of Bayfield with dining and entertainment opportunities.

Listing is wrong.
Unfortunately we were looking for glamping but ended up camping. This was no different experience than to pitch up your own tent and get an air mattress. She left us with 5 logs of firewood that was soaked and asked us to pick twigs from the forest. Rainy season so nothing that was dry and we were in the middle of no where. We were looking for glamping experience which is different. This is not glamping but regular camping!!! Honestly I could have paid 18-30$ and gone to a campground with my tent and air mattress. Listing is wrong and should be listed as camping. Not worth the money spent.

We absolutely loved Marielena’s site! She provided all of the necessities for a lovely stay. The nights have now gotten chilly but the tent kept us warm and cozy at night. It was nice having a shower and restroom at the site and we loved the biodegradable soap that Marielena provided which was made from the flowers grown on the property! We would love to come back again in the future!

Glamping under the stars
Marielena and Luke were wonderful hosts and the accommodations were perfect. This was the first time Glamping for us and we were blown away by the stars at night and sounds of nature around us. We would highly recommend a stay at Sanctuary at Little Sand and could definitely see coming back next year. Thanks!

We loved staying at Marielena and Luke's tent! It's in a beautiful spot with easy access to Bayfield and nearby attractions. They were very easy to communicate with and provided a very cozy and thoughtful place to stay. Would definitely recommend!

The perfect Apostle Islands getaway
Our stay at Little Sand Sanctuary was nothing short of spectacular. Nestled on private land, you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The the tent had everything we needed, including a very comfortable bed. Outside of the tent is a small patio with an overhang to drink morning coffee and enjoy the sunsets. We enjoyed nightly fires and roasting marshmallows. It is a perfect location between Bayfield and Cornucopia. Little Sand Bay is just down the road for swimming with a beautiful beach. Would highly recommend.

Best Glamping experience
This place is amazing!! We loved every minute. As campers, we needed a transition from pop up camping to a bit more comfortable bedding but still be able to cook meals and enjoy coffee while outside. This place was perfect to be outside every minute as well as fabulous night sleep. Shower was great too and composting toilet was a breeze. No bear sightings but we did have paw prints by the campfire.
