You don't want to miss the views and stars at Olson Vista! It will be an experience you won't forget, You will take in the unforgettable views at sunrise and sunset of Mt. Adams, Mt. Rainier, Swale Canyon, and wind turbines on the east horizon. The property is perched on the north side of Stacker Butte at 2,200 ft. elevation and includes a large homesite that is carved out of the side of the mountain which is perfect for campers, vans, a teardrop, or a small trailer. A sandy tent site is now available. It can be breezy, but it often makes it pleasant depending on the time of year. When the fire ban is not in effect, feel free to bring your solo stove to enjoy the evening. No firepit is available onsite. There is a scrub oak woods that you will walk through, and intermittent creek that is dry in the summer and fall. Feel free to explore around! We often see deer and other wildlife on the property so bring your binoculars for your viewing pleasure. A compost toilet is available onsite, and and we will instructions for those who stay. There is an outdoor shower that is not currently up and running. Water is not available as of yet. so make sure to bring your own. A picnic table is now available to use. If you are feeling up for it, walk up the hill 3/4 mile (1,000 ft of gain) to the top of Stacker Butte for more views which include the Columbia River! This leads into the trail systems of Columbia Hills State Park. The property is located 15 minutes from Lyle,, 25 minutes to White Salmon, and less than 30 minutes from Hood River which offer groceries and other amenities. There is an observatory in Goldendale. Additionally, the east end of the Klickitat trail is less than a mile from the property that includes biking and hiking. The property has a steep shared driveway with 1154 Centerville Hwy, so please be respectful and drive slow and use 4WD if available. The carved out homesite offers plenty of space, the best views and is available for camping, small trailers, vans, or small RVs. The meadow is also available for tent camping within a 0.01 mile walk down the trail with full views of the mountains. Guests will have access to the composting toilet at the homesite. The Vista
The Vista is remote, quiet, and peaceful... exactly the kind of experience I am looking for when I go camping. The site is spacious with great visibility, which allowed me to give my dog decent range to wander while still being within eyesight. I particularly appreciated the solitude afforded by Azure's land, it was quite refreshing. And of course, the views truly are amazing. I will definitely be coming back next time I need to do some decompressing, highly recommended!

Gorgeous views on the butte!
A little piece of heaven on a butte-side. The host was very communicative and I could see a longer stay here with the lovely amenities provided. It’s almost on top of a butte so the views are FABULOUS. Cute outdoor shower and clean little bathroom space. A cute little hike to a bench looking over a meadow is great for coffee walks. Genuinely take note that it is WINDY. And I mean your tent is going to take an absolute beating. We felt like we were camped on the side of Everest. Bring warm clothes!

Views (and wind) for days!
This a really neat spot with great views and the added benefit of a composting toilet on site! The space is plenty big enough to throw up a couple of tents, but keep an eye on the wind forecast. The other reviews are right: wind is a thing in this part of the world, and we left early due to 30 mph gusts all night making sleep impossible for us. If you have an RV it would probably be a different story, but having paid for 3 nights and leaving after just 1 night is a big bummer. That’s on us: Azure was a very responsive & flexible host.

Beautiful Views
Absolutely beautiful views! Truly magical to see Mt. Adams peaking through the clouds every now and again. The sunset was truly phenomenal as we got to watch the sun descend into what I believe was Mt. St. Helens. Although it was a bit windy over night, it got us up in time to catch more stunning views of the sunrise. Overall wonderful night spent, Highly recommend!

An amazing experience with incredible views! Had the most magical sunset over the Gorge. Easy access, great communication with the host. If you are tent camping, keep in mind the wind can be "windy". Part of the experience :)

On top of the world!
Do you want to get away from it all? Do you want complete privacy? Do you want a long, long view where the only sound is the wind? Do you want magnificent sunsets and more stars than your eyes can hold? Then you want to camp at the Olson Vista! All this and reasonable cell service: LTE AT&T. Yes, it is quite windy. And hot in summer without shelter/trees/cover. The composting toilet can be a little tricky (make SURE there is a bag in it before you begin using it!). But this site is special. I will return! Pro tip: if coming from the west, stop by the bakery in White Salmon for a sandwich and a treat, and you will truly have everything you need.
