Max is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
Over the past two decades, we've planted thousands of grapevines on our 60 acre property. More recently, we have taken the next big step and started producing some fantastic wines from our grapes! Our property expands over 50 acres allowing you to enjoy sweeping views and a peaceful environment. We are located less than 1.5 hours from DC which makes us an awesome weekend adventure out of the city. Our property is also a short drive away from many hiking trails in Shenandoah National Park. After hiking in the park, come back to enjoy some of our wine at our picnic area overlooking the vines! We are also within striking distance of several other great restaurants, wineries and distilleries. Other great activities nearby include apple picking, spelunking, swimming, kayaking, rafting, and of course wine tasting. We are near to Shenandoah National Park, Shenandoah River, Luray Caverns, Skyline Caverns, and Old Rag Mountain. Your host is available and enjoys getting to know Hipcampers. We will greet campers upon arrival but leave campers to enjoy their stay!

Geodesic Dome
Cool Experience
We enjoyed our stay at the geodesic dome, what a unique experience. It's in a cute location, not too far from Shenandoah National Park. We were happy to have the wood burning stove, but it's definitely worth paying for the provided firewood instead of trying to finding little sticks. It was a very cold night and we were grateful for the provided blanket (but also glad we brought some of our own). We were glad to be in my truck to get to the site as it is up a gravel road and through a field. Just for everyone's heads up, the toilet is a pretty far distance from the site.

Geodesic Dome
Nestled Dome
Great spot and the dome is lovely. It’s in a quiet corner of his property where you can hear the birds chirp and a brook babble. I was surprised how much effort a wood stove takes to keep the fire going, so just make sure you bring warm PJs and blankets. Highly recommend as a limited frills glamping experience. (Toilette is bit of a walk, and limited electrical.)

Geodesic Dome
The site was far off the road, requiring you to drive a long ways across an unlit, unmarked, winding field without paths. The host sent a high speed video of how to find the site that was very hard to follow at night. Had it been muddy, my car would have gotten stuck in the field for sure. Was totally unprepared for any of that. Once we found the site, it smelled so badly of mold and we decided it wasn’t worth it to stay the night. Sucks because the host was communicative and friendly—really wish it had worked out differently.
