14 acres hosted by Aria Z.
Once part of a 18th century farm in the bowl of the Southern Vermont mountains, our land is now finding new life in a 21st century back-to-the-earth homestead. Just as the hippies, long-hairs and counter-culturalists raced up to the promise of Vermont in the late 60's, we have continued Vermont's decades old tradition of youth leaving their suburban or urban upbringing to stick their feet in the mud in VT.
Our land is 15 acres running right along the State forest. A brook meanders the length of the woods and forms a cascade of waterfalls.
Forest bathing, unplugging, whatever the jargon is, it can be done here. Hike into the woods with a bag and leave behind any other human faces. Take a walk out along the original homesteaders path and come to the VASTS trail. With a mountain bike, hiking shoes or snowmobile in tow, the trail will take you all the way to Canada... or better yet, the Guilford country store, for some down to earth country Vermont food AND Heady Topper chilled in the fridge.
And hey, if you want to check out our hand-built tiny house on wheels and all the off-grid living stuff that comes with, we'd be happy to give you the tour!
And yes, Dharma (the VW bus) is happy to pose for photos.
We currently offer yoga classes as well in the morning on the deck at our homestead. Classes are donation based and taught by Aria who is a 200 hour certified yoga instructor. Bring your own mat or towel. Weekend classes are at 8am, weekday at 6am. Just let us know if you'd like a class!
