in Private Beach, 15 Acres, Vashon, WashingtonFerry boat ride to heaven!
Wow, wow, wow! Holy smokes! This place was unbelievable!! We will be ruined for all other camp spots after being treated with this beautiful gem of a place! Lisa was so accommodating, approving our request within an hour of our arrival after our plans changed last minute and we needed a place to stay in the Seattle area. We were on a long road trip from Minnesota and had never been to Washington before and didn't realize that the only way there was by ferry boat so that was a bit of a surprise for us and we were driving a truck with a 25ft camper trailer so the round trip ferry ticket was $118. Luckily, the next ferry over was leaving within a half hour and was only about a 15 minute boat ride over. We decided to go for it and we were so glad we did! What a place! We walked along the beach and walked to the lighthouse and had such a nice time with our two dogs (walking on leash and leashed at all times per owner's request) and our 10 month old baby. We spent the majority of the time gazing out at the beautiful Puget Sound water and views of Mt. Rainier. We were praying to see whales but no such luck. Maybe next time! We definitely want to come back and stay a week! It was so hard to leave this beautiful place. Hands down the most beautiful, secluded, gem of a place to camp! Thank you for sharing it with us Lisa!

Rivers Edge Hide Out
in Rivers Edge Hide Out, OregonThis was the exact type of place we look for with our dog aggressive pups! There were trails around the property we would walk with the dogs off leash and it was an incredibly peaceful riverside camp that was easy to access with our truck and 25 ft camper trailer. Randy text us easy to follow photos to help us find the location easily. We were greeted by the neighbor's puppy (a 9 month old chocolate lab) but the owner had his neighbor come retrieve him promptly upon our request. There were also some gunshots nearby that terrified one of our pups the next morning, but aside from that we had the most wonderful stay and would definitely come back to stay again in the future. This is the type of property we dream of owning someday. Thank you so much for sharing it with us Randy!
Past trip
in 16 Squared Cabin, MinnesotaSlice of heaven! (but be bug aware)
What a little slice of heaven this is! We love to go off grid camping with our two pups who are pretty aggressive so it's nice to be able to let them off leash once in a while. Amanda is the kindest person you'll ever meet and so accommodating and helpful, a delight to chat with through the app. Sadly, we tried to bring our 5 month old baby over Memorial Day weekend and the mosquitoes and ticks were pretty bad and chased us off. We will be back when it's a bit cooler and hopefully the bugs aren't as bad. Amanda did everything she could to make us comfortable and the grass was freshly cut. We were disappointed to find out we couldn't pull our camping rig up next to the cabin. We will be better prepared next time. Thanks for sharing this magical place with us Amanda! We'll be back! âşď¸
Past trip
in Forest Cleanse on 40 Acres!, MinnesotaBeautiful, but deer flies! (7/3/22)
We are new to Minnesota and are used to being about to camp year-round in Oklahoma. We drove 4 1/2 hours from southern Minnesota and the place was absolutely beautiful! Just the type of place we look for when we off-grid camp with us and our two mastiffs. Unfortunately, the second we opened our camper van doors, we were swarmed by flocks of deer flies and even when we jogged around the property, they kept up with our mastiffs and bit them relentlessly. We have never experienced deer flies before so we were totally unprepared. We immediately loaded up and headed back home. Had it just been my husband and me, we would have probably put on some of the DEET we brought and tried to tough it out, but we felt too bad for our pups the flies seemed to be more attracted to (they're black mastiffs which probably didn't help now that I've read they're attracted to dark colors). We arrived on the evening of July 3rd, so perhaps that is the worst time of year for them? We were super bummed, but hopefully, we can go back in September when the flies aren't as bad. I just wish we had been aware so we could have tried to have been better prepared.
Past trip
in Ocotillo Acres, TexasWe stayed over the Christmas holiday (12/24/20 - 12/27/20) with our two dogs (Mastiffs). As avid campers, we have been fortunate enough to spent time in some wonderful campsites over the years. This was the most secluded and enjoyable camping experience we have ever had!! It is exactly as advertised, but even more incredible than we expected. Very quiet and peaceful. We did not encounter any other people during our stay. We also spent hours walking the dirt roads with our dogs, and did not have to worry about cacti at all (as long as the dogs don't stray too far off the path). Phil and Molly were great, and the campsite was very clean and well maintained. Highly recommend!!
