The Garden of Eden is an Ecovillage just outside the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This small community is home to about a dozen people aged less than 1 to 60, two dogs, and several cats. It was founded by visionary author, speaker, and consultant Quinn Eaker on the principles of Freedom, Responsibility, and Sustainability. Our daily life here is rich, vibrant, abundant, and inspired! Each person here has a unique personality and style of contribution to the flow of life, yet all wake when they want and help in the ways that are most meaningful, joyful, and important to them. We use very little water, power, and other resources. We salvage even more than we conserve, and put old things to new uses in creative ways. Each day is a day of celebration of life, and each meal is too! Here we have great feasts cooked over fire just about every evening, and a pretty nice spread of a lunch buffet too. We drink activated structured water, full of delicious herbs and fruits to enhance absorption and nutrition. We invite you to join our dank communal meals for a reasonable donation. We welcome you to bring your tent to stay at one of our campsites, or to reserve one of our teeny tiny homes made from repurposed wooden shipping crates!  For more information about us, find us on fb - The Garden of Eden (Kennedale) - or visit our website!

Garden of Eden Tent Camping
Not fun, not COVID safe
The grounds were much more unkempt than we had anticipated, we were expecting a more manicured garden. The owners have let everything grow out so it is very wild. This did not work for us especially since it was raining when we were there. The website mentioned “not pets allowed,” however, there were pets on the property. My friend is allergic to cats and there was a cat freely wandering around, walking in our things and the cars. We could not find anywhere to wash our hands and were directed to pee “anywhere” on the property, which is uncomfortable when there are huge plants growing everywhere. To enter and leave the property we had to message the hosts each time to have them let us out. This was rather cumbersome and does not lend for a easygoing experience. I feel they could offer a better way for entry and exit for their guests. We were also there during COVID and the hosts did not wear masks or practice social distancing. We did not feel safe as a result.

Garden of Eden Tent Camping
interesting. will not return....
Garden of Eden is a nice place if you are really into sustainable ideas and experiences. Me and my boyfriend stayed 2 days here and it was nice but at times it was a little uncomfortable. We didn’t like the idea of having to go to the outdoor kitchen every time we wanted food, but it wasn’t that much of a hassle. Your campsite is private but when you need to cook, people will try to talk to you and make conversation. Which is fine! We were treated very nicely although one of the owners complained that we brought paper towels and toilet paper.....? I guess we weren’t “sustainable” enough for them. Also we didn’t really get to see the garden. The entire property is pretty overgrown. Theres many stray cats that WILL eat your food, so be careful. hahaha oh well good experience probably will not be returning again though.
