Description

Listen up, hikers, we’ve found your nirvana. Strawberry Campground Strawberry Campground calls the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness its neighbor, and it’s definitely not just any neighbor. Stay in one of the ten first-come, first-served sites (warning, it fills quickly!) and you’ll find yourself sleeping at a trailhead… almost. The Strawberry Basin Trailhead is right in the campground, and from there, you’ll have access to your choice of trails for both day and backpacking hikes. No bad decisions here—most trails feature a handful of lakes, waterfalls and stunning terrain! Warning to nervous cars and drivers: The last mile of road leading to the campground and trailhead to Strawberry Lake is very narrow, steep, and becomes rutted after rain.

Intimate, incredible campground right next to the creek. You can literally throw a stone to the trailhead that leads absolutely amazing hikes and runs. We did a great run up to Strawberry mountain on our first day and then ran a 20 mile loop around the mountains the next day. I'll head up to the Strawberry Mtns every summer from now on. You feel like you are a world away from Bend, Oregon.
