Great Fall Experience!
Had a wonderful experience at Heavener! The Park Host was very helpful with our late arrival time. It was a little rough setting up camp so late, but so worth the view when we woke up! Sunrise and sunset were gorgeous against the fall colors! The park staff was super friendly and helpful, especially being greeted by Stoney the camp cat! The hike to the runes was quite an experience and blue trail was a great workout 😊 Look forward to returning…hopefully sooner than later!

Enjoyed our stay. Water was supposed to be on site. The spigot on the camp site was broken. Was able to get water from another site. Loved the Runestone and the trails. The camp staff were so nice and helpful.

#3 camp site❤️🍁
Beautiful views. Clean and well kept areas. The camp host and workers were very helpful, generous and just all around amazing! We stayed during some crazy weather but it was all worth it with all the hospitality. Will definitely be returning!

Overlook Pavilion (OP)
OP views
This spot had a beautiful overlook. Amazing sunsets. You could see the stars. The trees really help with wind, which was good because we had a hard time getting the stakes in the ground in some spots. The restrooms were clean and the individual showers were hot and had amazing water pressure. Staying at the OP, there was a little bit of a walk to the bathroom but it was worth it. I did see a review about the train horns, there are train horns but none of us were bothered by it. It wasn't loud enough to wake us up and it was kinda cool being able to look down on the train. I can see if maybe you're a light sleeper you should bring ear plugs just in case. The trails were clean, well though out, and clearly marked. The staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, there was a burn ban when we were there, which would have made it a perfect trip. The fire ring was a good size and there was firewood for purchase. If you choose the OP there might be a few cars that stop by to see the view from the parking lot. This is not a remote camping spot. You should never cut down the trees in a park, and you should expect to see other people, after all, there are restrooms and showers. The park was quiet and it felt safe. It is perfect for first time campers, families and if you want to camp comfortably with a bathroom and shower option. The covered Pavillion was perfect for when it started to rain. We were able to pack up under the cover.

Great place, great view, very helpful and friendly staff.
They keep it clean at all times.
Most importantly the camp owner Mr.Stone is a super handsome Feline.
Make sure you bring trays and food for him.😻
#7 - Tent Site
It's a beautiful park with nature trails and a historic artifact. The park's staff is friendly and helpful. There is a playground for kids. And the park is dog friendly with bags available in the park for cleaning up after them.
The downside is that bathrooms are at one end of the park and showers at the other end. It's an uphill walk of about 200 yards from the bathroom to the shower.
And parking for the tent sites can be 20 to 30 yards away. That's not too bad if you are packing light.
