Silk Purse Farm and RV was once part of land owned by the Cole family. This family owned most of Reservation Rd. A family of 9 children were all born in the old farm house that has since burned when struck by lightning in 2009.  Pitch a tent in the wooded grove or hook up your RV to a shaded site completely covered by a 100 year old Pecan tree. Get farm therapy, ride horses, feed goats, dig in the garden or just hangout! Fresh eggs available in the chicken coop or goat milk based on timing.  Bring your own horse, stalls available.   We are a short 15 min from riding at the Walthour Moss Foundation and the Sandhills Game Lands We are 10 minutes from the Carolina Horse Park at Five Points, 20 minutes from Pinehurst or Southern Pines.   Now a rolling grassy horse, goat, chicken and sheep farm. Come see us and enjoy our slice of heaven. Everyone welcome!!

Silk Purse Farm RV Camping
The perfect spot!
We really loved staying here! The spot was perfect and our son loved all the animals. Michele and Rick were great and we added on the breakfast which was amazing. We highly recommend and will definitely be going back again and exploring more.

I had the pleasure of staying at Silk Purse Farm during the last leg of a cross country self-contained bicycling journey. It was definitely an experience camping out near chickens and geese…with goats and horses in nearby pens and pasture. There was a shower and bathroom in one of the stables, and there was electricity to charge up all of our devices. If your want to get the feel of being on a farm (and smelling the farm) this is a great place!

A campsite like no other!
I confess when I booked Silk Purse Farm it was because it was the closest location to the 2024 US Open at Pinehurst. But as the days unfolded, I quickly realized we experienced so much more than just a venue that was convenient to the golf course. From the moment you meet Michelle, you feel like you've been friends for a long time. She is an energetic and engaging host, generous with eggs from the hens and veggies from the garden as well as sharing knowledge about the farm and the area. We enjoyed a front-row seat to the antics of the goats, sheep, horses, and chickens, This girl from the suburbs enjoyed sitting under the awning of the travel trailer for hours, weaving baskets and watching the goats jump and play on the trampoline. And if you do feel the need to leave the farm, there's plenty of golf, shopping, and other activities within a 20-minute drive. Book the stay. It will change your idea of camping!

Silk Purse Farm
Michele was very friendly and quick to respond. Even accommodated later arrival due to changes in our travel. The property and animals are awesome! We woke up one morning and had 6 horses and a donkey hanging out with us. We’ve already recommended this location to other campers.
