Heartstone tent site is a stunningly beautiful, romantic campsite for 2! There is a new, large tent pad if you have children! Islandsite is an equally beautiful tent site ideally for two, but the 10x12 platform can accommodate a 6-man tent, best for 2 adults and a couple of kids! The Diamondstone site is a unique, beautiful, one-of-a-kind tentsite, EXCEPT a beautiful, furnished, shelter cabin is provided for you instead of your tent!!! Leave your tent and set-up at home! There is also room for a tent and your children out front, right beside the creek! You won't want to leave, but if you do there are many recreational opportunities in the area such as hiking, biking, rafting, fishing, and more! Stays of 6 days or more get a big discount! Enjoy the fresh, cooler mountain air, and the beautiful, private settings! Heartstone is located on a modestly pitched, terraced slope where a divided mountain stream, the tumbling Squally Creek rejoins itself! The sunlight filters down through the forest canopy providing a warm, inviting glow!! There is a 9'-6" x 10' wooden tent platform, and if needed a new, larger tent pad! Islandsite is located at the top of the island where the tumbling Squally Creek divides! Access is provided by the 40' long fallen tree bridge! Islandsite is unique, private, and very romantic! Diamondstone, Heartstone, and Islandsite feature a picnic table, charcoal grille, and comfort facility all within a short walk from your private parking! Enjoy evenings at the new fire pit area with benches overlooking the fire pit and creek! Explore the island on the 400' island trail, or go downstream to a nice pool for dipping! Heartstone

This was our second year visiting one of Brian’s campsites. This year we stayed at Heartstone. It was absolutely beautiful. Very peaceful, private and serene. Listening to the waters rushing while the leaves are falling are reason enough to visit in the fall. Outside from nature though, Brian takes great care of his sites and provides a grill with camping utensils, necessary bathroom amenities and truly cares about his visitors and ensuring they have a great time. We will be back for year 3 and are already counting the days!

Islandsite

Peaceful & Beautiful

We loved this spot! Brian was super nice and available if we needed anything but for the most part made himself scarce. The camping spot was beautiful, private and serene. The creek was so nice to sleep next to and explore in. We were relaxed the whole weekend. We also went out the little driveway and hiked up to the left for a good bit. Our dogs loved it and we loved it! We will definitely be back!

Restful Respite

Magical! That is the ONLY word to describe this beautiful place. Very peaceful. If you are looking to disconnect from the modern day stressors of life-this is the place! Brian was such a kind and attentive host. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. My son even caught fresh trout in the stream, which we had for dinner. Nothing like fresh fish over an open flame. Delicious. We enjoyed visiting his little slice of paradise in NC!

Beautiful & Relaxing Weekend!

We absolutely LOVED our trip to Mountain Creek Rest !! We stayed at the Heartstone campsite and there’s very little that could be improved upon. Brian is the sweetest and he came to check in with us each morning - our pups absolutely loved him. The property is absolutely beautiful and the creek is so relaxing. We got a 5 person tent on the platform and a 10 person tent on the flat gravel as well 2 hammocks. There was a charcoal grill with a few cooking utensils (cast iron pan & spatulas) as well as a well maintained fire pit area. The outhouse was clean and close by! The only thing I would say is you MUST follow Brian’s directions to the site and have a car that is able to drive rough backroads. We will be returning !! :)

Heartstone

Beautiful, Peaceful, Perfect

Myself and a couple of old friends went to enjoy a long weekend away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The place is picture perfect but the pictures don’t do its justice. It has everything you need for a mountain getaway. Brian was perfect from first booking to checkout and was such a pleasure to deal with. We had the pleasure of getting to introduce ourselves while heading past his place when fishing. Everything you would want in a mountain getaway. The directions he gave were spot on. We can’t wait to revisit soon.
