Healing Springs is a special place. It was discovered in 1884 and was originally called Thompson's Bromine and Arsenic Springs. In later years, the property became known as Healing Springs Resort, and is now simply called The Cabins at Healing Springs. The natural spring is purported to have mystical healing abilities and rumored to have cured everything from poison ivy to rheumatism, indigestion to ulcers. Come, try the water from Healing Springs!

On Top of the Trees
This was such a special spot. I loved, not only the accommodations, but I loved being close to the creek. It was central to hiking and kayaking spots, making it an ideal location for anyone who loves the outdoors. Checking in was easy, even for someone who like to arrive late after a full day of work. My little pup and I plan on returning as soon as we can.

Loved our stay on the property. The cabin was exactly as described and we found everything friendly and easy. The spring water is also delicious!

The barn house/bunk house was simple and perfect. Somewhere i would live. Kitchen bath everything was creative and super nice. The soap and the spring water took everything over the top of fabulousness.

Mixed feelings

Pros: - It has a neat "haunted" old-timey feel and decor. - The spring water is delicious. - They have a little "honor system" shop at the office for essentials and snacks. - Interesting history. - Comfortable space upstairs. Cons: - There's a dog fee, which I didn't see in the listing (but to be fair, it is mentioned if you expand the "amenities"), but there's no "pet fee" add-on, so it's very easy to miss. Had to pay extra for my 2 dogs upon arrival. - The downstairs of the barn loft (where the kitchen and bathroom are) is VERY cold in the winter. There's a baseboard heater, but it doesn't do anything. So we didn't end up doing anything down there, we didn't even shower because it was too cold. - Other guests get confused on where to check in and end up knocking on our door because it's the first door before the check-in area, so that cuts into your privacy.

Beautiful old cabins by healing wat
I had no idea there were healing waters in NC and these cabins were right there by the water. Beautiful old school cabins, with comfortable modern amenities. Beautiful property with a nice rustic feel. Quiet and beautiful.
