Artist's Cabin
I have to say we had the most wonderful experience Glamping at the Artist Cabin this weekend.
Despite the weekend being a bit on the soggy side, the team that we came into contact with, could not have been more accommodating and nothing was too much trouble - so a MASSIVE SHOUT OUT to David, Sunny, and everyone for making our stay such a pleasurable one. Many Thanks from Callie, Desiree, and Kairi.

Site 5 - Group Forest Campsite
One of the best in the Blue Ridge
I’ve been up and down the Blue Ridge Mountains camping in 100s of sites from National Parks to Hipcamps and everything in between. This is going to be near the top of the list and I can’t recommend this place enough. The campsites themselves were beautiful, nestled on a ridge where you could see mountains through the trees, & very well spaced out with tons of places to put tents/hammocks. We loved having the big fire ring with a grate for cooking and the picnic tables were a great addition. It’s a lot like the campgrounds in some of the local national forests, except you have a shower and bathroom access when you need it! Not to mention the meditation gardens, well water (which was extremely good & clean water), and general beauty of this whole place which the owner has essentially built by hand. David was a pleasure to converse with, and he shared some really cool history about the area. He is someone that quickly got my trust/respect and I felt I could sit down and talk with him for days. The campsites are numbered in a way that the higher the number the further up the hill your campsite is, but it’s still no more than a 50 yard walk down to the lodge. We found plenty of dead wood laying around camp for fires, but my hand saw made everything easier. As others have said, Sunny(the dog) is a kleptomaniac an may sneak into your camp in the morning but as dog owners it did not bother us at all. Thankfully he gets bored quickly. Hike to Max Patch from camp! I’ll be coming back!

Cozy cabin in the woods surrounded by mountains. Very comfortable bed with a view of the sunrise. An outstanding host, David, made me welcome and showed me the vast land and farm that is part of his holdings nearby. Easy and beautiful walk to access Max Patch. The icing on the cake is the most loving black lab, Sunny. You can count on a cheerful greeting from him every day.

Greenheart Forest Primitive Camping
Great camping area! Nestled in Pisgah National Forest, you're able to take a trail that leads to Max Patch, like your own private pathway to the mountains. Friendly staff, including Owner David and his dog, Sunny. Please be cautious of your belongings if Sunny comes by to visit! He's very sweet. The foliage was beautiful both around the campsite and along the Forest. He's got all the basics you could possibly need, with also the ability to disconnect and tune-in with nature. Would definitely come back and camp here again during another season!

I loved tent camping here. Site 2 was just over the hill and private with a great forest view, perfect for one tent. I felt safe and comfortable here. I hope to go back!

My husband and I stayed in Dave’s cabin for a quick, short getaway. We needed to some quiet space in the woods and we got just that. It was everything we needed. Clean, bug free and David is a wonderful host! Highly recommend!
