Half-way between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, located near the unique and quirky artist village of Madrid, Shanti Community and Retreat of New Mexico is a truly epic experience offering guests a sanctuary for the mind, body and spirit. We host yoga, community events, Dharma Tea Bus offerings, live music, healing services, and retreats. If you're a freedom-seeker, a wanderer, traveler, rebel, maverick or artist, you are Shanti family! Come and stay in a converted bus, or a hip retro camper and experience the magic of this land for yourself! Think Walden meets Kerouac and Thoreau meets Banksy. From Shelly, the founder of Shanti: I'm an off-grid, high desert, yurt dwelling, artist, musician, traveler and lover of life! The ten acres where my converted school buses and yurts reside is on a mesa a few short miles from the artist village of Madrid, New Mexico. Going to sleep and then waking to the sound of coyotes, owls, and nearby roosters, with 360-degree views is magical beyond description. It's quiet and peaceful but only 5 miles to the creative community of Madrid. Madrid has fabulous restaurants and 30 plus galleries with only 300 residents. The off-grid land where I live and am passionate about sharing, offers the best of both.... peaceful privacy and community.

Sunrise Moonset Yay!
We loved our time at the Dusk Til Dawn bus. The bus was cozy and full of charm. Located on gorgeous property. We were able to see the sunrise and moon set from where the bus is positioned. Absolutely glorious. Shelly was awesome!

Cozy stay on a chilly night!
A warm bed and a woodstove were just what the doctor ordered on my January, cross-country camping trip. Place was quiet and lovely, clean, and the compost toilet facility was tidy and well handled. Host Jake was super friendly.
