Description
Alta Campground is located in a scenic forest setting of yellow-barked ponderosa pine, fir, aspen, and lodgepole pine, proving plenty of shade for campers. Keep your camera ready—bald eagle, moose, and bighorn sheep live nearby. Take a five-mile drive to the stunning Painted Rocks Lake, where you can swim, boat, and fish. Other nearby attractions include Hughes Creek (a former placer gold mining site), and a natural hot springs about 18 miles away!
