South Kawishiwi River Campground
Description
Canoers and kayakers will fall head over heels in love with the Kawishiwi River. If exploring a small fraction of the 1-million plus acre Boundary Waters is your goal, you’ll find these one-of-a-kind waters to the north. Secure a permit and get paddling! The river itself is absolutely breathtaking, with clear, cold, quiet waters that are flanked on either side by the forest and wetlands. Spend the day paddling around while looking for moose, bear, bald eagles, and loons. When you’re nice and tired, paddle back to your densely forested campground for some R&R. All of the sites have plenty of space, and ample shade.
