Tiny A-Frame Cabin on a personal wildlife preserve! Located a mile from the Passadumkeag River and three miles from the Penobscot River! Quiet Space! Come enjoy a 'Piece of my Peace!' Meadow Vista and Garden views With Composting Toilet, No Electricity and No Running Water! • The wall does lift up and down so you can be closed in if it rains but I leave it open most of the time to allow air flow. • There is a fire pit and two chairs available at the cabin for you to cozy up or cook your food. If you would like a wheel barrow full of firewood provided there is some available on site for a small donation. • There is a hammock with a shade cover at the cabin for you to use. • There is a bug net provided in the cabin if you're in need of some extra protection indoors. • Sunkhaze Meadows National Wildlife Refuge is a short drive with a few hiking trails. • Baxter State Park & Acadia National Park are each an hour and a half away (just in opposite directions). • A composting toilet is on site, with a scoop and bucket of sawdust to cover waste. I you need to pee, find a tree! If it's number two, use the loo! • No electricity at the cabin or on the property • No running or potable drinking water. Must bring in water. • The cabin is quite cozy for 1-2 people and/or 1-2 fur babies. The cabin itself has an 8x10’ floor plan with a full size futon. The deck gives another 3’ to enjoy your inside/outside stay. • The property DOES get full sun so be aware of finding shade throughout the day! I like to enjoy the river(s) and explore the area during the peak heat hours! • Mosquitos like to come out at dusk. I do have some citronella candles but it would be best if you came prepared with bug repellent! • There is a New tiny cabin construction on site! • This cabin is NOT private - one dwelling is visible but it is also NOT a rental. Please: no check-in's after 8pm! Thank you for understanding! I cannot control the weather. I just provide a super awesome place. I am always available to help make your stay top-notch! Seasonal Details: WINTER CAMPING: I have bedding but I suggest you bring sleeping bags rated for sub-zero temps as the cabin is NOT insulated. You are welcome to bring a small buddy-heater with you, or, one can be available to rent. The clear panels do act as a greenhouse and the cabin can retain warmth during daylight hours. SPRING CAMPING: We like to call this mud season. Along with that comes the emergence of blood-sucking vermin (aka mosquitos and black flies). This is Maine. Please bring repellent. There is a bug net in the cabin to put over the futon. SUMMER CAMPING: Please see Spring Camping and then remember that there may be a total of 10 days that the temperatures may be unbearable (but the garden loves it).

Wish we had a better stay
We booked this a-frame for a single night and don’t feel the need to ever come back. Campsite is less private than the photos suggest, owners residence is roughly 75’ across a clearing from the a-frame door. Booked firewood using the extras button, none was provided. The host still has not replied to my request for refund. Host never introduced us to the site (compost, trash, etc) and noisily arrived after 1am waking our dogs (and us) from our sleep. If the expectation is that guests need to be mindful of quiet hours, I think the host should follow suit. Had I known that the host was so close to our rental and that she would be arriving after midnight, I’d have booked a different site. No refuge to be found from biting insects. This is somewhat wet land and is seemingly a breeding ground for mosquitos/gnats. Long sleeves and mosquito netting provided little solace. Bring a thermacell I was asked to be mindful of the nesting birds next to the a-frame’s entrance. This bird was not pleased with any outdoors activity (cooking, sitting, etc) and we simply just left the campsite to cook rather than draw the ire of a feathered friend. I paid $110 all said and done (taxes, fees, the firewood which was never provided to me) and really wish I spent that money elsewhere. Not the Hipcamp experience I was looking forward to.

Warm and Dry on a Rainy Night
Missy’s A-frame cabin was beautifully decorated. It provided us with a cozy place for my partner, pup and myself. We stayed warm and dry during a rainy night.

Gracious host amazing stay
Kate has a beautiful property and amazing cozy structure she built. She set us up with everything we needed and more. You would be smart to stay here either alone or for a romantic getaway and get back to earth. We will definitely be returning!

Loved this cute little A frame! Would happily stay here again. Very lovely hiking spots nearby and just gorgeous sunsets sitting on the little porch.

A plus A frame
The cabin was very comfortable with an offering of tea, blankets, pillows, and a small string of lights to keep inside lit. There’s a fire pit to keep the campfire going and keep the bugs away while you sit back to enjoy the night sky as the location is incredible for star gazing. I would for sure stay here again on my next trip up to Baxter state park!!

Our quick one-night stay at Steph's land and A-frame on our way to Baxter was awesome. We loved the serenity of the land and the artistic and serene nature of the off-grid cabin. Everything about it suited us perfectly! Also, the put-in spot just 2.5 miles down the road to kayak Cold Stream was fantastic -- highly recommend it!
