A prime destination for hikers, horseback riders, fishers, hunters, and lovers of peace and quiet, Cherryvale offers a modest number of spacious sites with modern set-ups on Big Hill Lake. A sand beach, clear water, plenty of shade, and awesome area wildlife-viewing is the basic package here. If you want more, nearby Big Hill Lake Horse Trail leads visitors through 17 miles of the “Little Ozarks,” a stretch of wooded and hilly terrain. You can have it all, with a cherry on top!

We are grateful for your support of our efforts through your visit to Humboldt. Base Camp is a 21 acre modern glampground + RV Park, trailhead, and bike park located in Humboldt. We have beautiful tiny home cabins, mini A-frames and full service pull-through RV hookups. Located in Humboldt, KS at the trailhead to the Southwind rails-to- trails. Base Camp features a quarry pond for fishing and small watercrafts, large open fields for recreation and a bike skills course perfect for beginners and seasoned riders alike. Currently, we do not offer tent camping - coming soon! Our RV spots are located in our paved parking lot. Each rental includes water, 30 and 50 amp electric and sewer hookups.

The Hill

My family settled on this plot of land at the turn of the century, moving west in a covered wagon. And aside from a brief time in the late 80's it has been in our family ever since. For most of the 20th century the property was a small farm, grazing cattle and mowed for bailing hay. We are trying to rejuvenate the property and breathing some new life into this old plot of land. Learn more about this land: The Hill, aptly named, is a hilltop that slopes down to a large pond that divides the twenty acre property in two. With plenty of room to stretch your legs you can enjoy a nature walk. In the evening enjoy the night sky around one of several fire rings, while roasting marshmallows. Easy access and only a quarter mile from the main road. Potential for Noise: MoKan Speedway and Active railroad nearby

Stardust Market Garden

At the edge of a small town in Oklahoma, plenty of space to look out over hayfields, lounge in one of our hammocks, sit around the fire, watch chickens, ducks, and geese, and maybe lend a hand to one of our varied farm projects. Permaculture-based polyculture market garden that sells veggies, herbs, and eggs. (Plants are all certified organic, eggs aren't certified but fed organic feed) A few miles from Twin Bridges State Park has RV dump station. The town is walkable and there are plenty of bikes to use. The main use area will have lights from the neighbors, 2 lane highway, but also private areas to set up a chair or hammock. Behind the hedgerow (to the North) there's a mowed areas for a tent. There's also a tree platform for tents (though it currently needs some brush clearing to get to it) Also a train runs about 10 x day and night about 5 blocks away. There's capacity for leaving your trash/recycling here (I have to pay for weekly pick-up but rarely is my bin full), there's also washer/dryer in an outbuilding that can be used (within reason)

The Train Depot on Route 66

This is a primitive drive in site right off Route 66 in White Oak, located 8 minutes from Vinita or Big Cabin where you can access I-44. The site is excellent for an easy access overnight stay. The sounds of old Route 66 still exist. With trains and coyotes to lull you to sleep. Enjoy an open fire where you can grill your dinner and enjoy the magical sunsets and night star gazing.
