FDR State Park has a well-maintained car / RV campground with small, close together spaces as well as backcountry camping along the Pine Mountain Trail. Car camping is reservable online and has standard amenities such as RV power/water hookups, fire ring, and picnic table. Backcountry camping is by permit only and reservable online, but no site selection is guaranteed and must be selected at the state park office on arrival.
The park is clean and well maintained, and the Pine Mountain Trail is maintained by a trail association and is well marked with ample access to water along the route. Highly recommended for backcountry camping south of Atlanta!
