Primitive Cabin
Like staying in a cozy art gallery!
Hipcamp
Wow, what a wonderful oasis nestled in the woods of Northern Georgia! William was such a graceful host and gave us wonderful recommendations on activities nearby.
We loved having the red dome home right outside our cozy little cabin. A hot shower and great conversation were only a few moments away. There are lots of chickens (and chicks!), dogs, and bunnies sharing the property, so plenty to pet and snuggle. There are hidden surprises around every corner to warm your soul.
The cabin itself is like a little art gallery. Paintings line the walls and textiles look like they were curated for the space. There are two spacious beds in the cabin, but we only needed one, and the bed on the left is much more comfortable.
William has some very nice trails leading down to the creek - well-walked and easy to navigate. Once at the creek, you’re surrounded by gorgeous ferns and plenty of gems.
It rained during our trip, so we couldn’t build a fire in the provided area, but we did stay warm and dry. The roosters crowed at daybreak, and we enjoyed brewing coffee on the front stoop and reading about the history of the land and William’s love for it.
If you want a quiet getaway in the woods to reconnect with nature, this is definitely the place to do it.
Indoor Room at Monolithic Dome
There were pros and cons. Amy and William are warm and welcoming, and helped me with things to do in the area. Unfortunately I could not stay the full time as they burn incense in the house - which I did not know (should be added to the listing) - and I had a bad reaction to it. William was very generous and refunded the cost of the second night.
Pro - the room was comfortable. Con - no dresser or closet to unpack into. No blind or curtain on the window.
Bathroom and room were fairly clean but needed thorough dusting. The bathroom is right next to the bedroom.
I had a vision based on the pictures of a calm and serene retreat. Reality was a high energy home - which is neither a pro nor con. It just is :) I would have loved to see their collection of unusual things organized so they could be appreciated. It was too cluttered to be able to see.
The biggest con for me was that the shared living area (kitchen and refrigerator especially, dining/living room area) were not clean. I would not have cooked there even if I didn't bring my own food. Clutter is one thing. Dirt is another.
Considering the cost which was comparable to a hotel room, I expected a bit more than what I got.

Many animals
Owners are very friendly and helpful. During my stay they were building something and need a little clean up. But for me overall I enjoy my stay with many animals.

A Hidden Gem in the Appalachia
The experience at this hidden gem among the foot of the Appalachian Mountains was wonderful. Plenty of great trails and waterfalls within a few minutes away from the site.
My favorite part is the fact there are various types of home-made drums everywhere. I personally enjoy hand-drumming, so this was like a haven for me. Ultimately, the hosts were very accommodating and understanding of my disability, and they never made me feel like someone who needed to be babied (it's more common than you think). This is a great place for people who needs time to reconnect with the woods or a place for a musical outlet.

Primitive Cabin
William and Angie took great care of us! The site was very clean, felt safe, firewood was provided, and we had a great stay! Gave us some local recommendations as well.
