Located above the Duwamish River in Seattle, WA this 3 acre property is a hidden gem.  A group of West Seattle locals has brought a dilapidated piece of land back to life and is currently building an Outdoor Education Center for youth and adults. At the bottom of the hill is access to a lush greenbelt with parks and walking trails along with the Duwamish River great for fishing and kayaking.

Fantastic!
The Heron’s Nest was awesome. Everyone that came was totally impressed was a fun and unique place it was. Amanda and David were great, making sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend The Heron’s Nest.

Amanda was a helpful host who was there to meet us even though we arrived after dinner. The site was private and had a nice composting toilet and handwashing station, but my husband couldn’t sleep because of the noise from the trains. I had earplugs and slept fine.

Nice place to stay!
This place was cool. Private campsite within the city limits. Greenhouse, outhouses, showers, and nice and quiet. It was a fun getaway for a quick urban camping adventure.
