Welcome to our small Farm and Inn, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County, Virginia. Located just minutes from Shenandoah National Park, we offer intimate nature-inspired cottages and camping on our 120-acre working farm. Enjoy an evening under the stars with fireflies and a campfire after a long day hike, fly fishing on one of our beautiful trout steams or touring the local vineyards and breweries. We currently offer one cottage and a few campsites for our guests. Our campsites are all private, located acres apart with tables, chairs, firepits, some elevated sleeping areas, some hammock spots and a few with a roof. Three of our spots require walking away from your vehicle, short distances. We have four drive-in sites that will accommodate two or three vehicles. We do not allow RVs or trailers on our main farm due to our narrow mountain driveway. Wisteria Camp has a private driveway therefore can accommodate small RV/Trailers. Camper vans are welcome at the main farm! Our farm store includes our Animal Welfare Approved products such as Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Dairy, as well as produce, jams, coffee and other items from our local community. We offer camping essentials, local art, bike rentals, farm experiences and tours. The property has miles of trails along mountain spring-fed streams, a small pond and access to three private acres on the Robinson River, a stocked Trout stream, just 2 miles down the road. Our property is centrally located to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in the Shenandoah National Park as well as many vineyards and breweries. A few offerings on the farm. Tasting in the 1850s Chestnut log cabin, tubing trips, breakfast and picnic lunches, Animal experiences and Yoga. Please inquire about renting the property for private small events.

Gypsy Camp Near SNP
We had a great stay! Absolutely loved the location of the farm, farm animals and farm store. We did white oak canyon in SNP and loved the proximity to it. Sperryville is a really cute nearby town with a great coffee shop, before&after. Jennifer was extremely helpful and communicative whenever we had a question or just wanted to walk the grounds and visit with the animals. I recommend buying extra bundles of firewood when booking. Would love to stay here again.

I went to car camp with my dad and my boyfriend. our 2 SUVs were able to find level grounding to sleep in and the amenities and convenience of this hipcamp made this a very enjoyable experience for my dad who hasn’t camped in over 30 years! The farm eggs were so good and the host left us a small pile of firewood to get things started! Had a great time even in damp conditions!

Birdsong Camp: Near Shenandoah NP
Good, lots of yellow jackets
Myself and 5 friends spent two nights at Birdsong. We ran into one of the resident pigs as soon as we pulled into camp which was fun and enchanting. As we were setting up the tents, a tree fell about 30 ft from the tent pad. Everyone was safe but it was a little spooky. It had been raining for several days. The flush toilet was a nice amenity but be aware you have to fill the tank manually with provided water. Wasn't a problem for us. The kitchen area was clean but out of salt. The 4-person tent we ordered as an add-on was a backpacking tent. We fit two adults + their bags in there and had 4 adults in my tent. The site had a ton of yellow jackets at it. we couldn't really use the table because there would be anywhere from 5-10 crawling on it at any point. I got stung (bit?) once because one had landed on me without me realizing and I bumped it with my hand. Kind of a bummer and stressful, but it was probably because it had been raining so much that they were really active. Id totally bring wasp traps next time. The fire pit was really nice and the local hiking spots were fun and accessible. We were able to walk around the farm and see the animals. Jen let us feed some of them which was fun and cute. I would not recommend bringing an anxious or reactive dog here. You can hear the animals from the site and I know it would've driven my dog wild - I'm glad we left her at home. The driveway was accessible in a mini cooper. Water is pumped from a red spout next to the bird house.
