We are a working farm, scenic setting with a 200 year old farm house, quiet and peaceful, nestled at the foot of the Blue Ridge mountains. Close to historic sites, such as Monticello, Montpelier, and the Manassas Civil War Battlefield. Luray Caverns and Sky Line Drive can be found 30 to 40 miles west. We are one hour southwest of D.C. and one hour northeast of Charlottesville. During your stay you can sample from one of the many wineries/breweries in the area. If your traveling with your horse, we have indoor stalls and turnout available.

Site 10
Jim met up with us when we arrived and directed us to the site. Beautiful land, lots of wildlife and plenty of pretty horses to admire. Farm dogs and cats around, the lab will be a constant companion if you throw the ball. We took a walk on the woods at the farm and a bald eagle landed in a nearby tree! Port a john was clean, water and electrical perfect. Close to vineyards! We would stay again.

Great location outside of
The way I look at my camping experience is whether or not I will return to a location. My answer is here is definitely yes. We had a bit of a hiccup upon our arrival with sites, however in the end, Jim and Cyndi went out of their way to be gracious and accommodating towards us. Having grown up in the Fairfax area as a kid, we were happy to learn that Jim had grown up in Clifton and was as local as we were. He took the time to share some history of his home, his property, and again was just one of the nicest persons we've met along the way. We ended up at site 9 by a former horse barn (my description) and the site had 30Amp electricity and water. It was level enough for us to enjoy a pleasant stay and the rolling hills of the farm were a pleasure to take in during the evening hours. Some interesting tidbits to consider or to be aware of. The nearest dump station is @10 miles away depending on how you drive and will cost you only $5. If you are a Trump supporter like us, you'll love all the Trump signs driving around the area as it is definitely that side of the aisle, the site itself has an area for 100% boondocking and the north side of the farm and on the south side is where you find the different RV sites with various hookups. The sites are far enough away that even though we seemed pretty full with five RV sites and the boon docking site with another 4-5 people, the noise level was really quite low as everyone was respectful on one another. We look forward to returning!

I loved staying at Jim’s property. It was so beautiful there and very peaceful! He has a few dogs that really like to play and run around the property. I love the way the property was tucked back away from the big city and the busy streets. It was a nice little retreat. Also, Jim was very kind when I got there, helping me get set up!! I hope I am able to come back someday. Thank you so much, Jim, For sharing Your little slice of heaven with me!

Site 2 - Narrow Gate Farm
We got there early so instructions for access were easy to follow for campsite. We shared the site with an RV but we mostly stuck to ourselves. The location was private with a picnic table and fire ring. Owner had a very friendly dog name Tilly that loved to play fetch. Lovely view of the night sky.

Spot 5 was absolutely fantastic!
We stayed on spot 5 for two nights and we will absolutely be coming back! The farm is beautiful and extremely peaceful. Easy to find and access. Hookups were convenient and Jim had extra hoses and 50/30 adapters available. The friendly farm dogs were a huge treat, as well as watching the horses and their goat buddy. Porta potty was clean and fresh. One thing of note is cell service in surrounding area. On the farm the service was usable, but we took a day trip to Graves Mountain Orchard and had no service for a long stretch! Predownload directions or buy a map!
