Enchanted Hidden Cabin

Like a second home!

Moon and Julie go above and beyond to make you feel very welcome at Hawthorn holler, it really feels like a second home! Very fast confirmation of trip and even told us to come when we were ready, since our other booking had gotten cancelled due to the hurricane that passed through, we were absolutely grateful for the fast response. We noticed Moon and Julie have worked hard since our last stay here to keep improving the site and pond area; a picnic table with an umbrella to relax by the pond and additions to the pier, a futon for relaxing in the cabin, a portable fan that runs on batteries, an electric outlet we could use to charge our devices, and many other improvements that make coming here to stay again refreshing and even more enjoyable. Our huskies had a blast on their first camping trip meeting their dogs, playing in the pond, enjoying the open space, and were very pleased by the fan in the cabin which Moon and Julie provided us batteries for when needed! Fishing at the pond was amazing, everyone had fun, and caught something too! We also saw a fox in the field, some bats, enjoyed the campfire, and stars at night! Thank you Moon and Julie for an amazing stay, and we hope to come back ASAP to visit again!

Enchanted Hidden Cabin

Comfortable cabin, great location!

This cabin is great. Lots of room, comfortable and nestled nicely in a private area. Its a nice walk to the dock on the pond. Moon and Julie came by at check in and were very welcoming and helpful.

Enchanted Hidden Cabin

Enchanted Cabin...Amazing Weekend !

Hawthorn Hollar was ABSOLUTLY AMAZING!!! I had an incredible weekend. It was raining the first night so I couldn't do much but Moon and Julie invited me into their private barn to hangout and talk with them. I can't emphasize enough how easy they were to talk too and friendly they were. The Enchanted Cabin was great! Even though the temps were around 100 over the weekend the cabin area was well shaded on all sides so it was a good 10 or so degrees cooler there which was nice. Fishing at the pond was also amazing. My camping trips always have to include some fishing and I was not disappointed. Caught lots of good sized brim and bass. The boats provided are nice but if you're up for a little hard paddling I highly recommend taking the floating dock out. It makes a great platform to stand and fish from or even set up a camp chair on. Hiking was also great with the themed trails. I ordered fire wood and they were super generous with that. Had more than enough to get me through the weekend. And best of all was the shower!!! Like I said earlier with the heat index in the 100s it was great to be able to go and cool off and freshen up at the end of the day. (Has hot water for cooler evenings too). And don't let the "outdoors" part fool you, it has FULL water pressure and a very nice shelter built around it for full privacy. Its also nicely divided into a changing area and shower area. I had a very peaceful and relaxing weekend out of the city and can't wait to come back again!!!

Cedar Lane - Site 2

This was a fantastic place to camp. Unfortunately the heat was too much for us but we’ll definitely be coming back when the weather cools down a bit. The area was very nicely kept with an accessible bathroom that was excellent and even had a mirror on the outside. Everything was clean and well kept.

Cedar Lane - Site 2

Amazing spot and top-notch hosts

This was our third time back at this site and it certainly won't be the last. Not only is the land gorgeous with tons of open space around you, but the hosts are always thoughtful. This last time, there was a heat advisory in effect throughout our stay. Our hosts went above and beyond by lending us a generator and two fans to cool us off. We love Hawthorn Hollar!
