We are a family/veteran-owned small farm offering primitive creek-side and open field camping that's perfect for motorcyclists, car campers, and tourists traveling on an adventure. We are located along the historic Crooked Road Music Trail and right off the Blue Ridge Parkway at mile marker 159.3. The picturesque town of Floyd is only 4 miles away, with easy access to music, shopping, multiple grocery stores, local and international themed restaurants - all with a true feeling of Appalachian hospitality. There are 6 creek-side campsites and open-field campsites in the peaceful field, all with access to trails. We have been developing our dream property and wanted to welcome visitors with affordable tent camping in an incredibly beautiful area of the country. Also, on the property we have a store with essential camping needs, local products, artisan items, coffee, and souvenirs. During the summer we offer a "YouPick" flower experience in our crop field (come get a container and pick your own bouquet of flowers) and special/tourism events. Peak season for flowers is from July to September. We would love for you to camp and give us feedback as we are constantly improving things. Our newest amenity is a 1 mile hiking trail that starts at the campground and takes you through the woods to the top of our property. Come ride, camp, and explore the area!

The store clerk was very helpful and super down to earth! The store was dainty and full of awesome hand made signs! The site itself was clean! Although, we would have loved to have running water and a bathroom, the Porter Johns were clean and water was available inside the changing hut. 10/10 would return!

Camping under the stars!

I highly recommend Crooked Mountain's land. The staff is so kind and helpful, the space is absolutely stunning. For a primitive site I felt like I was living 5 stars! I plan to camp here frequently and bring my son and others back! My friend Bill who booked after me absolutely loved it as well. We were able to see the COMET here! Thank you so much everyone!

We loved our weekend at Crooked Mountain! The creek campsites are great and come with a hammock which ended up being everyone’s favorite napping spot. Toilets and showers are very clean and the country store is adorable. This was our first time here and we hope to come back!

Geared towards the tent camper

The owners are wonderful people. They are extremely accomodating while not being invasive. This place is geared towards camping, not simply someone's backyard you pay to pitch a tent on. Their firewood is seasoned and a generous amount for $6.00. There are many conveniences that other sites lack such as: a wash house, plentiful bathrooms, a general store with outdoor electical outlets, true fire rings with a grate for cooking, picnic tables, packed sand tent pads (very convenient for those driving longer tent stakes). We also got the chance to hear a coyote pack communicate late at night in the distance. It's also veteran owned, which is reason enough in itself!

Relaxing and quiet

Great place! We enjoyed a relaxing evening, lounging in the hammock and roasting marshmallows over the fire. Very quiet. The outhouses are the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Already making plans to go back. Very convenient to downtown Floyd and amazing gravel bike routes.
