Nestled on a private 65-acre farm in the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia, Beaverdam Falls is located on VA SR-311 (Kanawha Trail) in the Sweet Springs Valley. Nestled in the old community of Earlehurst, between Covington & Roanoke, Beaverdam Falls are an historic series of waterfalls on private property. The Falls are at the headwaters of Dunlap Creek and are the terminus for the Sweet Springs. Available for guest stays & recreation, are the Upper Falls portion. Surrounded by the verdant George Washington National Forest, the Upper Falls, displays a constant waterfall of around 40-feet in height, & decorates the final mile stretch of the Sweet Springs, both on our property. Additional beautiful cascades pepper our tract of Beaverdam Falls as well. This private tract of unparalleled Virginia countryside will simply astonish your expectations. As the source of the Falls, Sweet Springs Creek, serves as a long, unique home for trout, calcified travertine rock, chalybeate water, and ancient beaver dams (as well as active ones!). Beaverdam Falls is a rare place for the lack of stone and the centuries of beavers who have left their trace in & on our creek—and swamp, the Stick Marsh, which has an active beaver dam. Be careful! They do bite!

Incredible space, stunning falls and creek, and just the right amount of spacing between sites for privacy. Wonderful spot and I couldn’t recommend it more.

Beaverdam Falls, Top of the Rock II
This place is magical
We stayed at Top of the Rock and it is stunning. The cabin was situated next to the waterfall, there is a bridge at the upper level over to a landing where you can sit and look over the waterfall and the lower level, there is a trail down to the lower level where you can see the trout swimming, you can swim yourself, or sit and enjoy the view. There are several trails to wander and a cave to explore. The open field and view of the mountains are breathtaking. The shared trailer space has a small kitchen with running water, a stove/oven, and refrigerator. If you forgot something, it’s likely available here. There is a bathroom with shower as well. Also, WiFi available here and the check-in barn if needed. Otherwise, no cell service. My husband and I booked our stay for our anniversary getaway. It was so peaceful, yet we had such a fun adventure as well. It was great to unplug completely, focus on ourselves, and recharge from the hustle of everyday life. Beau is very helpful, responsive, and hospitable, yet they give you your space and privacy which was great. We highly recommend staying and would love to return again.

Beaverdam Falls, Falling Waters
My family and I had a great time at the A frame. The sound of the waterfall and creek were so nice to wake up to. There were great views everywhere, even on the short walk to the car and the porta potty. We arrived at night and were able to manage with the signs and map but I would suggest arriving in the daytime for the bit of 4x4 driving and the walk leading to the A frame. The owner was informative prior to arriving and we appreciated all the amenities provided. Highly recommend!

This was by far the coolest and most beautiful camping experience I’ve ever had. I plan to come back at least once a year! Incredibly friendly and accommodating host and staff. Comfortable bed and all the amenities you could need and more. I can’t recommend this site enough.
