Come explore our historic circa 1785 homestead situated on 284 gorgeous acres of mixed forest and fields. Miles of trails to explore. Excellent for mountain biking horseback riding, hiking birdwatching, and forest bathing. Broad Brook is a lovely cool brook that cascades through a series of small swimming holes. Sit by our beaver pond and watch all the wildlife. Excellent bird watching, all kinds of flora and fauna. Miles of ancient stone walls. Bring your horses, lots of trails and fields to ride on. Excellent dark sky area for terrific star gazing. Try your luck at panning for gold in Broad Brook. Campers are welcome to borrow our panning equipment. * Imprtant Firewood information: Campfire wood bundles can be waiting and ready at your campsite, pre order using the “Extra” tab while booking your site.. Start your trip off right with bundles of firewood waiting for you at your camp site for your first campfire. Vermont prohibits the entry of out-of-state firewood. You can bring your own firewood that has been certified heat-treated to 71° C (160° F) for 75 minutes at an approved treatment facility is allowed in, and it must be labeled as such with the producer’s name and address. This is to protect the state’s natural and agricultural resources from the devastating effects of invasive tree pests that can spread to new areas when people travel with firewood. You can purchase this wood if you prefer at many stores like Tractor Supply, Lowes and many local stores.

Janet and Tom were great hosts—so kind and generous! My friend and I biked in from Mass, and this was a great spot to rest overnight. The hosts have some beautiful land, and the campsite is amazing. I recommend taking a cold dip if you can. There is plenty of space to spread out, and it’s tucked back from the road. We will definitely be back and can’t wait to stay again!

Beautiful and private
Such a beautiful private site! You can see the road in the distance, but it is very tucked away and you definitely feel like you have the land to yourself. The hosts provided us with plenty of firewood and kindling, which was very nice. There’s lots to do in the area as well. Downtown Brattleboro is a must see. It you like thrifting, definitely check out twice upon a time!

Our camp getaway on Janets land was incredible! Her property is stunning, the creek was at a perfect level, and the firepit was lovely. Janet was flexible with us as we packed up which was so helpful. We will be back!

Hidden gem
Idyllic setting, lots of privacy and space to explore, and friendly and attentive hosts…can’t ask for more than that! I definitely plan on returning very soon.
