I have to say I was, hands down, blown away with our visit. The site was beautiful, the bathrooms were so clean and the host was amazing. He was so kind to tell me about the history of the property and the surrounding area. He gave us excellent recommendations of places to go too.
I will definitely be back again.

Perfect site for stargazing!
I loved the Retief's campsite. Stayed at Site 5. Retief mentioned that it was only the second weekend that the site had been available. There are clean flush toilets available and showers, powered by solar!
The site itself is not too far from Terlingua / Study Butte / Big Bend National Park, making it an ideal location to car camp or tent camp at. While you can capture stunning sunrise and sunset pictures from the campsite location, the true winner is the night sky once the sun goes down as all the stars light up the sky providing photographers with a great opportunity to stargaze and take some stunning photographs.
Retief is extremely friendly and is keen on improving the site to provide campers with the best experience. Loved staying here, would definitely stay here again, and would recommend the site to friends and family!

Dark skies and running water!
Campsite is perfect — rustic and remote with perfect dark sky and great amenities to boot. Retief is an excellent and flexible host, and knows all the local spots to check out.

We had a great time at Willow Creek! The bathrooms, showers, and full hook up sites were super nice to have after roughing it at Big Bend. We really enjoyed the campsite and only had a few spaced out neighbors. Our camp host came by immediately after we got there and made sure we had everything we needed. He also had some tips for local spots to visit. I would definitely come back and visit. It was close to Terlingua and had amazing views as well.

So glad we stayed here!
My wife & I REALLY enjoyed our stay here! Retief, Jay, and Greg are the most inviting people. We were happy to have toilets & showers in the morning and after a long day of being out. The location is perfect; close to Big Bend National Park entrance, about 10-12 mins from Terlingua, and mins from the Cottonwood general store. It all depends on what you want out of your time in the area. You might want another location if you are looking for the remote camping experience. The campsite isn't far off the main road BUT it's not right beside the road. At night you will hear the vehicles on occasion, yet we didn't find it overbearing by any means. We were able to sleep at night with no problem at all; especially since there's almost no traffic as it gets later in the night. Our site had a great fire pit and custom made grill.
Retief knows the area very well and is more than willing to share the history of the area and potentially less visited hiking trails. The views throughout the grounds are great. We are definitely going to stay here again! "

Location is easy to find and within 10 minutes of Terlingua and all the restaurants and shopping. 15 min drive to the Big Bend West entrance.
Sites are clean with all the amenities plus there are toilets and showers which are very convenient. Owners were very nice and hospitable. Would definitely stay again and recommend.
