Lower primitive camping--Site 1
My rating is based on 1) access to resort is via 3 miles of dusty gravel road. 2) campsites are hardpacked gravel with no shade. 3) toilets were not cleaned our entire stay. The positives are 1) good food in on site restaurant 2) camp fees were very reasonable

Rough road to paradise
Pros: It is a beautiful setting surrounded by mountains and the night sky is amazing, with a clear view of the Milky Way. Having a restaurant, bathrooms, showers, laundry, and pool all within walking distance is a huge plus. The primitive camping is on the highest tier of three tiers, with RV's on the second tier, and cabins on the first. Voices carry, but for the most part, people are honoring the quiet hours. The very real Con: The three mile final stretch of road is a washboard dirt road. I usually like to stay a few days and explore the surrounding area, but I did not want to drive that road until I was ready to leave and decided not to extend my stay for the same reason. Off-road vehicles would probably be fine.

The property was quiet and clean, the amenities were as advertised. Rates and supplies were affordable and reasonably priced.

Good campsite with good WiFi and beautiful hikes & views. Our two pups loved it
I work remote and this was good enough to be on Zoom for meetings.
Campsites are pretty close but we didn’t have anyone near us, thankfully.

Big Bend trip
The unexpected great swimming pool was a nice cooling relief in the afternoons.
