Pitch your tent either by a small pond and watch geese swim by while trying your luck at catch and release fishing in the kayak or just sitting under a tree, or go into the wooded area in the back of the property and star gaze at night sitting by your campsites fire pit and nature watch on 10 privately owned acres, while being a 3 to 5 minute walk up to the above ground swimming pool located at the home front for use when reserved at time of booking. Enjoy feeding apples to our two friendly horses or throwing out some treats to the geese and chickens that free roam all 10 acres. You are only a 15 minute drive into the rustic small cattle town of Madisonville or 30 minute drive into college station to see those Aggies play football.

Site 2 - Janeric Ranch

Loved car camping on Janie's land. She and her husband were so kind and made us feel at home right away. Site #2 felt very private and had easy access to the porta-potty. Lots of extra seating and hammocks as well as ample firewood and a cute little basket of supplies we might need. Loved sitting by the pond and watching the horses graze. Looking forward to coming back for a future stay!

Peaceful and Pretty

We spent two nights camping here to ride motorcycles in the area. It was a very pleasant experience. Janie, the host, is very kind and helpful, and made us feel right at home. The land is beautiful, and you’re out of the way of the main house with plenty of privacy. A nice fire pit and picnic table and we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend.

The host is such a wonderful and caring individual that made the ranch feel like home. The campsite was spacious, clean, private and relaxing. Loved walking around the land and running into her animals and especially her horse Boots. Would definitely book again!!!

Camping with horses

Our stay at Janeric Hipcamp was a relaxing sojourn in a peaceful, equestrian setting. Our kind host, Janie, welcomed my husband and I, and extended her immense hospitality upon our arrival. She gave us the lay of the land, and ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable evening. Thank you! There were several great spots on the property suitable for tent-camping or camper vans. The camping plot we chose was neatly nestled within the trees at the edge of the property. The site had everything we needed including a picnic table, outdoor toilet facility, chairs, hammocks, solar lighting, and a fire-ring stocked with wood. The entire property was well-maintained and clean with a laid-back, easy-going vibe. On the grounds you will find a variety of animals, including some very friendly horses (Janie offers equestrian experiences for those interested in riding). There was also a pond on site—if kayaking or fishing is more of your thing. My husband and I had a great time at Janeric Hipcamp. Thank you for sharing your land with us, and for your wonderful hospitality. We truly appreciate it!
