The largest and southernmost of the campgrounds, sites 1 - 35 are located just beyond the visitor’s center and are by far the most developed in the park.

With water, electricity, restrooms, showers, picnic tables, amphitheatre, playgrounds and even a nearby dump station these spots are ideal for a family weekend getaway. Just across Holmes Creek, visitors can watch herds of buffalo roaming through the fields. Just be sure to keep a safe distance - these bulky beasts can move faster than they look!

We are small family owned RV Park with lots of room to spread out and relax. We have bath house and laundry, small playground, and tent area. We are welcoming guests 24/7 as we also live here on property. We are located in lovely Silverton, Texas, about an hour away from Amarillo and Lubbock. Caprock Canyon State Park and Trailway has amazing scenery, only about 20 minutes away and Lake Mackenzie is a quick 12 minutes from the park. All sites are pull-thru with full hook ups, electricity is included in the monthly rate. We have Wi-Fi, a bathhouse, a full-service laundry facility, plus good ole fashion hospitality. We live on site and are available to assist in any way we can.

If you plan on hiking the longer trails, be sure to take plenty of water with you. There is no water available once you're on the backcountry trails!

LOVE this campground, it's a true hidden gem. Stopped here on a road trip across the country, and would love to find myself back here if the stars aligned. Stay here!

Overview

Biking

Caprock Canyons State Park offers nearly 90 miles of trails that make up the Trailway, all open to bikers. Ride past stunning red bluffs and through deep canyons, and be sure to break for the occasional herd of bison!

Boating

Lake Theo in Caprock Canyons State Park covers 120 surface acres and is a great spot for taking in the surroundings by boat.

Fishing

Hiking

Caprock Canyons State Park has nearly 90 miles of trails that wind through plains and canyons, known as the Trailway. The Trailway was created from an abandoned railway line, and you can still see the old railway trestles and tunnels as you pass by herds of bison. Horseback riding

Swimming

Take a dip in Lake Theo after a long hike along the Trailway and set up a lunchtime BBQ at one of the lake's picnic areas, which have grills and picnic tables available.

Wildlife watching

In addition to the well-known herd of South Plains bison, a popular activity at Caprock Canyons State Park is to hike to Clarity Tunnel to check out the population of wild bats that hang from the old railway tunnel's ceiling.
