Site 1 - Southport Cave
Such a great spot!!
This camping spot is AMAZING!! I went with a group of friends and the property was so fun to explore and the cave was fantastic! It has so much history and was such a highlight of the trip! Buddy was so accommodating and checked in on us multiple times and brought us supplies! We had such an amazing time and I highly recommend staying here!

Host was engaged and offered help if needed. Firewood was cut up and he left us some water. No frills camp spot. Tennessee woods were beautiful. Fit our fancy and we were pleased.

Southport Cave - 9005
This is a beautiful little slice of Tennessee not far from the interstate. We had the place to ourselves, and Buddy was very accommodating when we spoke to him on the phone at arrival. He offered for us to set up in one of the rustic cabins on the property, and had ample firewood on site to burn in the firepit at the property. We didn't have the time to do a cave tour, but we're able to do a quick hike on the property and see the entrance to the cave. Would definitely return again

Relaxing camping weekend!
Great quiet property. We were the only ones camping. We ended up camping in our van so we didn't use a cabin but they are basically small shed like structures which is really nice if you don't have a tent. The trails on the property were gorgeous. They were still working on getting them all cut and trimmed up while we were there because of the recent storms but it didn't bother us and it was gorgeous. There's a cave you can walk to on the property that is a short distance from where you are camping. You can't go super far into the cave because there's a gate, but you can still walk in it a bit. I had friends drive up from Nashville to hang out for the day and explore and they loved the property. We definitely will be back and hoping to bring a group next time. Buddy was super helpful and let us borrow his ax so we could cut up some fire wood. I would recommend bringing some sort of ax or even a hand held hatchet to help cut up the big logs available. There's plenty of wood on the property that can be used for fire too. They don't have a running water hook up so make sure you bring enough water from home for washing and drinking. There was an outhouse we used but apparently they usually have a porta-potty too.
