Great Campsite & Quiet Host
The Campsite was fantastic and just what I was looking for.
The PROS: Site was level and had a large thick ground cloth already in place. This made set up a breeze and was so comfortable, I went barefoot. Great views of the mountains and pastures. The site is at the end of the street, so there was very little traffic (I think I saw 2 cars) and the only noise was a barking dog or two a few thousand feet away. Very quiet. Very peaceful. I would 100% camp here again.
The CON: I booked on very short notice and feel the host may been quite busy with real life stuff. The arrival directions gave the site address but no actual guidance that I was to drive past the house and hang a left near the hard-to-see HIPCAMP sign. Also, the host had 4 sites listed online but only 1 site when I got there so I wasn't sure if I was in someone else's site or if there were others down a path or through the woods.
NOTES: The site did have a considerable view of the host's house a few hundred feet away. I thought it would be problematic, but it honestly wasn't. The host came home around 11pm and was quiet and did not disturb me at all. I had a great time. Cell service was VERY spotty, which was actually kind of nice as I enjoyed nature and didn't get hung up in my phone at all. Had a New Moon and the stars were FANTASTIC!

We loved staying here. Everything was marked and easy to find. They stocked our campsite with wood and it was such a beautiful area to wake up to in the morning. Super kind and friendly people. We also booked the horseback riding and loved it!

Great campsite to stay at! The Hip Camp sign along the road was a great to touch help us find our way to the campsite. The site was located on a beautiful mountain side with a creek nearby. The site was fairly level with a ground tarp, a picnic table, trash can, and plenty of firewood in the firepit. We were unable to spot the pot-o-john or hammock on site, but that was no big deal to us. At night, it was super quiet with only the sound of the creek. The site had enough room for our 3-person tent but the neighboring site, although vacant, was located very close. There were two street lights that were very bright at night, but its possible to position your tent so that the big tree blocks most of the light. Otherwise, we loved our stay here and would definitely recommend!

We had an amazing experience camping here! Gorgeous landscape, with well set up camps. The campsites have a rough tarp bottom which was so nice since it had rained earlier, so it kept our campsite dirt free! It also had a ground cushion underneath for a tent to go so it was more comfortable, along with a nice picnic table. Our host was super easy to communicate and work with, and he kept the fire pit stalked with wood. It was surprisingly not that buggy for this late in the season, probably due to the nice cooler nights and breeze, though there was a beautiful fire fly display at dusk! The only thing to note is there are two campsite, instead of the 4 the website for some reason indicates. And the campsites are in very close proximity which would be great for a group but a bummer if someone else had booked the same night. All in all 10/10 would recommend! Also close proximity to many desired activities. 30 minutes from Linville Falls and 45 from Hawksbill Trailhead.

This was a beautiful location. We loved being able to explore the land and see the horses and beautiful views. Only thing no porta-potty as stated on Hipcamp description, but that didn’t stop us from having a great time. Horseback riding was awesome too!
